 2/27 Today we talked about metamorphosis. We created butterfly oil pastel pictures. We learned about ratios and used legos to figure out our ratios for each color . We also learned how to write those out in ratio and fraction form! We experiment with magnets and test different objects to determine if they were magnetic! We also had Salsa lessons with Mrs Katelyn for Movement class!

Literature-Echo

CW- Design and detail a new amusement park ride


We teamed up and created parachutes one from paper, one from, cloth, and one from plastic to test air resistance. We then time each one three times wrote the stats and then averaged them out!! Paper won!! 


We then designed our own amusement park and map!!


We had a birthday yesterday so we also made brownies to enjoy!

Literature- Echo

Creative writing- write a story about an old lady that lives in the woods, Valentines Day Cards

Math- Decimals adding and subtracting. Ordering decimals game

Science- Acids/Bases, Cleaning Pennys graph and experiment

Art- Yarn wrapped Hearts


2/6 of course we started off reading Echo… then went into our creative writing about the strange spaceship that landed in our yard!!  We talked about decimals for math!! We then moved on to discuss the phases of the moon and worked our moon phases projects!! A blast was had by all making our fuzzy baking soda paint and then adding vinegar to our paintings!!



1/30 Today we ready Echo and worked on our creative writing. Then we talked about adding and subtracting fractions and converting improper fractions. We then talked about the solar system and made a solar system project. Finally we enjoyed playing a game.


1/24 - Today we read Echo. We then wrote a creative writing story on how we would disguise ourselves in the forest. We talked about endangered animal. Then had fun with fraction basics then we also had the great chain challenge. We also did some ab original art by painting some Q-tip turtles

Today we talked a little bit about Echo! we talked about vertebrate and classification of vertebrate We then moved onto LCM or least common multipliers. Then we talked about what our creative writing project should be. They should work on those at sometime today or tomorrow, Funally we worked on a group art project …. Catching snowflakes!

 

1/9 Today we started reading Echo. We talked about telegraphs and Morse code. We then made Morse code name bracelets. We talked about factors and greatest common factors for math.. We wrote a creative writing story on my favorite part of the holidays. We also listened to Brahms lullabies and played some  Mad Libs!

 

 

 

11/28 We read Christmas Carol, wrote a circular campfire story, worked on fractions, had a Lego completion to see who could build the highest/sturdiest building, Xmas dot paintings, and then made pinecone bird feeders!!

 

 

11/14 Science- Diseases and Immune System Lesson and demonstrates how waging hard with soap removes more germs. Also completed an immune system word search!

Creative Writing-  Wrote a fairy tale with at least two characters 

Literature- Christmas Carol

Math- Multi-digit Multiplication 

Art- Germ Google eye paintings

Music- Difference between rhythm and beat. Clapped out the differences to some ok classics!

11/7 

Science- Energy Resources Lesson and played an energy movement demonstration 

Creative Writing- talked about personal essays and wrote about the most surprising thing that happened to us this year.

Literature- Christmas Carol

Math- Multiplication Mini Books

Music- Carnegie Hall Name that Tune Game

Art- Pointillism Leaf Paintings 

 

10/31 Today we shared our science projects with the class. Some did experiments some did research papers. Everyone did an amazing job. We also read some more Christmas Carol. We wrote about our most valuable item  in our creative writing book. Then we reviewed research wats with out google lol! Then we made bracelets! We then had a party and played UNO! Oh and we even squeezed in a game of statues!

 

**Don’t forget Halloween party next week and science projects due****

9/19 Read Wrinkle in Time and write about an experiment that we created that would change us in a positive way. Then we unscrambled some Anagrams. We reviewed ocean life sea creatures and tried to make a squid locomotion, however, that project was a flop! Talked about fractions and how to read them then played roll it, find it, cover it (a fractions game)! Then we did a music scavenger hunt where we compared our answers with our friends. Lastly we Illustrated our names with things we like or like to do!! I send art projects and papers home so please check with your child to see what they are doing in class!! 

 

9/12 Read WIT, wrote a small piece about where we would time travel and what we would accomplish there! Then we made drops of IT paintings and discussed how negativity spreads fast like our paint drops.  We then did some division review and played division go fish! We moved onto ocean currents and made demonstrations of warm water and cold water currents! Lastly we split into two groups and made body percussion songs and performed them!! 

 

 

9/5  Started off with Wrinkle in Time then we write a paragraph to "Be the Author", we then played rolled and answer (math), then we learned about Earthquakes and became engineers to build structures that would withstand the shake table! Oh then we painted stormy night paintings using water color and tempura paints!! Great day!!

 

 

08/29 Whew! Busy day!! Finished our globes, talked about our Brains in Space, Read Wrinkle in Time, played multiplication war, and made tesseracts!! Also snuck some tic tag toe in there! 

 

08/22 Today we welcomed a new girl who is gonna fit in quite well!! We learned about the dimensions, tesserwells, and theories of time travel. We also read more Wrinkle in Time out loud and learned how to write a business letter. Then we had fun starting our paper mache globes and making water xylophones!  

 

8/15 Welcome back!! I sure did miss everyone and welcome to the new folks! Today we learned about layers of the earth, reviewed addition and subtraction, learned about voice classifications, and painted with watercolors. We spend some time outside playing games to build rapport with each other!!
