Please consider making a donation to help us build the CAMP LYDIA FUND.

Support Seward Tsunami Swim Club by contributing to the CAMP LYDIA FUND. This fund aids in retention of High School swimmers and helps to pay for camps, scholarships and needs of the team.

The SHS Team needs to raise $5,000 for the 2025-26 season to pay for lifeguards so they can hold practices, pay for meet fees, and team travel to meets.

The lack of pool funding requires the team and coaches to find outside funding. We are glad the CAMP LYDIA FUND and STSC can help in this effort- Thank you for your support!

CAMP LYDIA FUND

Fundraising to build a pool in Seward began in the 1950s. The goal was and still is to make sure Seward kids know how to swim. Once the Seward High School pool opened in 1978, the money raised was entrusted to a group of community members to help subsidize swim lessons and purchase equipment.

Over the years, the fund had become dormant and it was decided to donate the remaining money to Seward Tsunami Swim Club for seed money to help create Camp Lydia- a tribute to Seward’s Gold Medal Olympic Champion who did learn to swim in Seward.

The intent of the Camp Lydia fund is to benefit High School age swimmers in Seward Tsunami Swim Club and Seward High School Swimming. The intended focus of the fund is to aid in retention of High School Athletes through camps, clinics, scholarships and outreach.
