2025 AMS LC Zone Team
Registration Opens Tuesday June 17, 2025
The 2025 LC Age Group Zone Meet will be held August 6 - 9 at the SwimRVA Coliegiate School Pool 5050 Ridgedale Pkwy., Richmond VA 23234. The AMS Zone Team will self travel but stay together as a team. As clubs were informed at the 2024 Fall HOD meeting as a part of the AMS Budget plan, transportation for the meet would not be provided. However, Travel and/or Team Building Events may be changing..
About the Eastern Zones Championship meet…
In August of each year the Eastern Zone hosts an Age Group All-Star Championship Meet also known as “Zones”. AMS fields an All-Star team for this meet with the fastest swimmers in each age group (10 & U, 11 & 12, 13 & 14)
The Eastern Zone is a division of USA Swimming and contains 12 Local Swim Communities (Allegheny Mountain, Potomac Valley, Virginia, Maryland, Mid Atlantic, Metropolitan, Niagara, New England, New Jersey, Adirondack, Connecticut, and Maine). Each LSC builds a team to compete against the other LSCs in a championship format meet.
How to Make the Team
The swimmer must complete a Zone Team Application by the deadline (July 21,2025) and pay the application deposit. Additionally the swimmer must have at least one qualifying time (QT) in an individual event and have swum at least two (2) individual events at an AMS meet during the 2025 LC season.
The AMS Zones TEAM…
Swimmers are expected to train, eat, compete, and support the team through the final competition session (10 and Under Saturday afternoon 11 and Older Saturday evening), regardless of age or circumstances. Swimmers will return home after the meet with their families, however all athletes must remain at the meet through the end of the final session. Each swimmers’ families housing will be coordinated by the AMS Zone Team Coordinator; All team members will be required to stay at the Four Points Hotel Sheraton, our Team Hotel. A block of rooms has been reserved for the AMS Team and all swimmers with their families will stay in the AMS Team hotel for the entire length of the meet. Each swimmer’s family will be responsible for the cost of that housing. DO NOT RESERVE A ROOM OUTSIDE OF OUR BLOCK RESERVATION.
While most of this trip has been subsidized by AMS, each swimmer is expected to pay the participant fee to attend the 2025 Eastern Zones Championship Meet at Hampton VA. This year’s zone team fee is $500.00 for all swimmers.

Let’s Register the Swimmer...
For 2025, any swimmer that meets a qualifying time during the qualifying period and has swum at least two events in one 2025 AMS LC meet should register for the AMS Zone Team. As soon as you have a qualifying cut time it is highly recommended that you register for the team. If you presently do not have a cut time, but believe you may achieve a cut, or simply want to be considered for the team you should register at this time. If you are not selected the application deposit will be fully refunded.
Registration is for individual events only. The coaching staff will select relays from those already attending the meet (no relay only swimmers). Each relay is subject to change throughout the entire ZONES event at the discretion of the coaching staff.

*Coaches Invite will be for those athletes who have achieved a qualifying time but have not registered, or those swimmers who are very close to having qualifying times and coaches have determined that those athletes can help fill out the team. If you feel your athlete should be considered by coaches, please register.
The athlete cost to be a member of the 2025 AMS Zone Team will be:
All Swimmers $500.00
Deposit at time of registration is $100.00 per athlete with the balance due prior to departure.
Hotel costs will be the responsibility of the athlete’s family at the TEAM hotel (AMS Group Rate: $159/night + tax).
Athlete Registration will be considered a confirmation and hold one (1) hotel room for the duration of the event, with check in on Tuesday August 5th and check out on Saturday August 9th. AMS will reserve each room; however, your family will be required to provide a credit card for full payment and incidental room costs when checking in at the hotel.
If your family needs more than one (1) room, please indicate this in the registration notes. While we have a limited number of blocked rooms, we will make every effort to obtain additional rooms but there are no guarantees. Families may make reservations at the team hotel for additional rooms outside the AMS room block at the regular hotel rate. (The AMS room block is not available for reservations at this time.)
The athlete/family is required to remain at the meet through the end of TEAM competition.
11 & Older – Through Saturday Evening at the completion of Saturday’s Finals
10 & Under – Through Saturday Afternoon at the completion of Saturday’s Timed Finals
Please note: If you register, are selected to the team, accept the invitation, and then fail to participate; your family will be responsible for the total cost of the trip equal to but not less than $2,000.00.
