Fundraising and Volunteering

To ensure a successful swim season and to keep registration fees at a minimum, swim families are required to volunteer and participate in fundraising activities.  During the season, swim families will also be asked to assist at swimmeets in roles such as deck parents and timers ect. each swim meet requires 1 volunteer for every 4 swimmers. If we are not able to provide these volunteers we may need to consider how many swimmers can compete that weekend.

2024 Volunteer requirements:

Each swim family is required to provide:

1. One adult volunteer per family for our home Swim Meet (Saturday, June 1st)

2. Food contribution towards the lunch or $20.00 cash contribution at our home Swim Meet (Saturday, June 1st)

3. One adult volunteer per family for regionals in Edmonton August 9/10/11, 2024

4. One adult volunteer per family for provincials in Edmonton August 16/17/18, 2024

5. One adult volunteer for a St Albert casino shift (TBD, 2025)

A volunteer cheque of $200 will be collected upon registration, and cashed if the above volunteer requirements are not met.

Volunteer positions for swim meets:

All positions at a swim meet are volunteer, including the referees. Many positions are avilable and some require prior trainning. Food services, marshaling, emcee's, setup and take down these do not require additional online training. Timing, stroke and turn, starter, Chief timer, referee, computers all require online training. These are all parent volunteer positions and it takes about 40 volunteers to run a successful swim meet.

This year our draw for free swim season will be done based on your Swim Canada Credentials. For every Swim Canada Credential a family holds that family will be given one ticket into the draw.  The draw will take place June 3, 2024.
