THE Australian Diving Grand Prix may have been cancelled due to Covid-19 but Malaysian divers will still have a chance for competitive action against their overseas counterparts.
Malaysia Swimming (MS) will set up an online streaming dive meet on Nov 14-15.
For the online meet, MS even managed to rope in divers from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
"The divers are mostly club-based but some of them are also national team divers," said MS secretary Mae Chen.
"We approached countries where the time zone is similar to us and they were certainly keen to take part since there won't be any competitions this year as all the Grand Prix meets for the year are off the calendar."
These online dive meets will have divers perform their routines through live streaming platforms with judges watching and judging.
Mae said these meets will be a good opportunity for divers in the Road to Tokyo programme and those training for the Malaysia Games in Johor to ease themselves back into action after months of non-competition.
