A bit about the Club's History...

The Aurora Master Ducks was established in 1997 by Reg Chappell as an extension of the youth program, Aurora Ducks Swimming.  Under the dynamic leadership of Head Coach, Nancy Black, the club flourished in size and competitive presence.  Nancy officially took the helm as Owner, President and Head Coach in 2003 and the club entered a decade long "heyday" and exploded to over 200 members.  Nancy founded the Special Ducks in 2008 and today the Town of Aurora offers 8 Special Olympics Sports Programs.  Nancy passed the Master Ducks baton to Adam Porteous in 2013 and the club continued to service the needs of swimming enthusiasts with a focus on fun, fitness and friendship.  In 2019, I was fortunate to seize the opportunity to steer the organization through what has proven to be some turbulent waters!  With much thanks to our loyal members, some whom have been with us for several decades, we have continued to thrive despite the odds.  The Coaching Staff & I are excited to enter the club's 25th Season! We are dedicated to helping our swimmers develop proper stroke mechanics, improve cardiovascular and muscular fitness, and to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive training evironment for everyBODY.  Our "why" is to develop interest and participation in the sport of swimming for the benfit of health, overall wellness and social connections.
