AA Champs Long Course Day 2

Saturday night proved to be a stellar night for Hyack swimmers at AA's. With some great swims in the morning, there were many more finalists than Friday night.

In the first event, Nicole Cheng brings home a silver in the 100 Free going 1:11.79. This makes her the second new AAA qualifier !! The momentum from her race carried over to Angel Yang's race in the next heat of the 100 Free final. Angel went a 1:11.78, a PB and also earned her a 6th place finish; she was 8th going into finals. Carrian Leung also had a great race in the 100 Free, going 1:08.84, earning her a bronze medal. Last girl up in the 100 Free was Emily Williams. Her gold streak continued as she raced a 1:03.91 and beat out the competition. Terence Ho represented the Hyack boys and raced a great 1:06.88, just shy of a 3rd place finish.

Next up was a Hyack specialty, the 200 Breast. Grace Hu and Rebecca Siemens raced side by side and both had faster times in the finals going 3:22.70 and 3:21.84 respectively. Angel Yang was up again in the 200 Breast, this time racing to a Silver finish going 3:11.97. Cassie Wang also had a magnificent race, moving up 4 places to 4th going 3:15.76. Amanda Dhaliwal was in the next heat and came home with a 6th place finish going 3:21.66, also a PB. Last girl up was Angela Siemens who went a 3:22.43, a sizeable improvement from her prelim time. On the boys side, Jonathan Zhang went a 3:06.40, racing a very tough race and snatching himself a Silver medal.

100 Fly also proved to be fruitful event. Danaka Brown and Jamie Engman both raced to good results, going 1:22.27 and 1:23.70 earning them 3rd place and 6th place respectively. Petya Mineva also beat out 6 of the other competitors going 1:17.67 which got her on the Silver podium. Emily Williams (...no surprise there...) was up on the top podium again after the 100 Fly going 1:12.88. Terence Ho also raced in the 100 Fly going 1:17.53 and getting himself into 4th spot.
