Arrived at Pan Ams
The day started early enough heading to the San Diego airport at 430 a.m. It was a smooth trip to Guadalajara by 1130 our time (130 local). The Canadian reception team met us at the airport where we received our accreditations and a police escort for the 30 minute drive through the bustling traffic to the Village. Everything is new and the accommodations are nice and everyone received a cell phone for team use during the games (so we can keep track of each other). We ate some lunch at the diner and took the bus to the pool about a 15 minute drive and again with police escort to keep drivers out of our way. The pool is brand new and still getting some finishing touches. It is very large and airy with 2 50 m tanks. If the place is full with spectators it will be very noisy. A few of the swimmers commented the water felt a bit warm.
