Bottrill Makes A Final 200 Fly

Mark Bottrill

Mia Bottrill races to 10th place in the A final. This was her first A final and kept her streak of having made a second swim at every national championships or Trials since she qualified for them. It was also her first experience at the ready room!
Chris Baker swam to a best time in his heats of 200 fly. His time of 205.9 was fastest BC swimmer 16&u and should put him on the Western Canada Games team this summer.
Stella Jin broke Pam Rai's 1980 50 free record for 13-14 girls going 26.90.
In a meet where the overall percentage of best time in the morning heats was less than 30% swimmers who achieved BT in the heats had a great chance of advancing. It shows the importance of practicing fast morning racing no matter at workout or a meet so you are ready for the big meets.
