LAC Alumni gain Hall of Fame recognition
Congratulations to former London Y Aquatic Club Head Coach Brian Cartlidge (1976-1984), who became the 11th LAC-affiliated builder or athlete to be inducted into the Ontario Aquatic Hall of Fame, at the annual Swim Ontario awards luncheon on Saturday, Sept.20.
The Hall of Fame was founded in 1990, and incorporated in 1994, with Dr.Paul Hauch being selected as part of the first induction class. Other LAC honorees include: Marilyn Corson (1994), Louise Kennedy (1995), William Kennedy (2005), Ken Fitzpatrick (2013), Adam Purdy (2017), Darda and Brad Sales (2022), Chris Chalmers and Deborah Wurzburger (2024), and Coach Cartlidge this year.
Also acknowledged at the awards luncheon were Coach Liz, for her years of work on behalf of the Western Region of Swim Ontario, Darda Sales for her efforts in growing and improving Swim Ontario's PARA program delivery, and longtime LAC official Denise McDonald, who has been working the pool decks for 30 years!
Also, on Thursday November 6, Darda and Maggie Mac Neil, will be recognized for their aquatic accomplishments, along with 4 other London-area athletes, with their induction into the London Sports Hall of Fame.
