RESPONSE REQUIRED: INTENT FORM FOR JANUARY PROGRAMS
Dear Current and Previous LOSC Mini Olympians, Olympic Way, and Stroke Improvement & Conditioning Members,
BELOW CONTAINS PERTINENT AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND THOROUGHLY.
You are receiving this email since you swam with the Langley Olympians Swim Club in the 2019-2020 season and/or swimming currently with us at the Aldergrove Pool. We would like to ask for your intentions for the new year. We need this information to book our pool time and space for the new year. As some of you may know, the Township of Langley has indicated they are planning on re-opening the Walnut Grove Pool open this coming January 2021. Should this proceed, we are looking at moving some, if not all, our programs to WG Pool when we are able to.
IMPORTANT: The status quo of swimming out of Aldergrove will NOT change until we confirm it with all families via email. For certainty, this may be the case up until February 1st 2021. We will wait until Walnut Grove has FULLY OPEN (not Soft Opening) prior to making the transition back. This email is merely an intent form to get a concrete understanding what our membership needs and how we wish to proceed as we need to submit our request to the Township.
Since our re-start back in the Spring of 2020, we have successfully ran practices from our top group all the way down to novice groups. Our safe restart and safety of our participants is our top and utmost priority to ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe experience. We have a COVID-19 Safety Plan that we adhere to and
ask swimmers and families to adhere to and these are in compliance to the rules and guidelines set by the BC CDC, ViaSport (Provincial Sporting Organization), Swim BC (Provincial Swimming Organization), and the Township of Langley. Should you wish to read and review our protocols, please visit our website under “Return to Sport Resources.” During registration, we require families to electronically agree to our safety protocols and COVID-19 illness policy.
As mentioned, the Township has not allocated us any pool time and space at W.C. Blair or Walnut Grove Pools as of yet, however we must submit the pool time and space we require. The Club’s intent is to have similar pool time and space for both WG Pool and WCB Pool from previous years, but the TOL will let us know at a future date what exact time and space we are allocated. Most likely, due to the restrictions placed on events by the Provincial Health Officer and facility allocation by the Township, we will probably NOT have our regular time and space for all groups. Therefore, we are open-endedly asking for your input as to what days and times your child would like to swim. This will be applicable to swimmers in Mini Olympians, Olympic Way, and Stroke Improvement and Conditioning Groups.

Please let us know the following:
1.Which POOL you are interested in swimming in
2. Which GROUP your child wishes to register in
3. What DAYS you would like to swim - You may write down as many time slots as you like (We are planning to swim Monday to Friday Afternoons and Saturday Morning)
4. What TIMES you would like to swim (Afternoon Sessions range from 3:30-7:00 PM and Saturday Morning will be from 8:00-11:00 AM)

Disclaimer: This email response does not automatically confirm your registration at the Walnut Grove and/or WC Blair Pool. However, your response WILL be used to determine our pool space booking allocation and what the demand is for our programs. In addition, we will also use this information to determine who gets in the group should there be a number of participants cap placed upon us. Therefore, your response at the earliest time possible will help secure a spot for your child. Further email confirmation regarding our confirmed plans will be sent out to all members. We would like to run most if not all our programs, but as always, there will be minimum number of registered swimmers required in each group in order for a group to run.
We would like a response by Tuesday December 8th, 2020.
We appreciate your cooperation on the matter. Any questions, please contact us via our email at [email protected] or feel free to call us during office hours at 604-532-5257.
Thank you
