CLUB RECORDS BROKEN and NEW SWIM BC CHAMPIONSHIP MEET QUALIFIERS!

The Langley Olympians Swim Club's National, Provincial, and AGP Swimmers had their first time trial opportunity last Friday, January 29 and Saturday, January 30 after a good block of training in the month of January. The swimmers from Mini Olympians, Olympic Way, Stroke Imporvement, and Regional Group also had their first racing opportunity of the year last Saturday, January 30.

Overall, a lot of swimmers clocked best times! 

Below are some swimmers with notable swims:

  • Katie Schroeder (15 years) for broke the Girls 15-17 yrs 100 LCM Backstroke Club Record by 0.12s with at time of 1:04.50, old record holder was Chelsey Salli in 2009.
  • Leilani Fack (14 years) for broke the following club records:
    - Girls 13-14 50 LCM Freestyle by 1.15s with at time of 26.94, old record holder was Bailey Herbert in 2017
    - Girls 13-14 100 LCM Butterfly by 0.59s with a time of 1:03.30, old record holder was Bailey Herbert in 2016
    - Girls 13-14 100 SCM Butterfly by 0.63s with a time of 1:01.80, old record holder was Leila herself in Dec 2020
  •  
    Alex Velicico (12 years) for broke the 11-12 400 SCM FR club record by 2.65s with a time of 4:32.72. Old club record holder was Michael MacDonald back in 2008!
  • Olivia Losacco (12 years) qualified for her first BC Provincial Championship event in the 50 Backstroke
  • June Juggiah (14 years) qualfieid for her first BC Divisional Championship event in the 50 Breaststroke
