Red vs White Day 3 Update and CLUB RECORDS BROKEN!
Yesterday, Friday, Feburary 26, swimmers from National, Provincial, and AGP raced in their 3rd Red vs White session for the January to March block. Swimmers continue to clock best times as a testament to the hard work and effort that have placed in their training. Racing for Red vs White has also elevated swimmer's performance!
Currently, Team White has overtook the lead by a significant number! Team White currently is at 7,920 points and Team Red is currently at 6,070 points. Contributing to Team White's success is three bonus points for club records broken (200 points) and five bonus points for time standard achieved (150 points). On Day 3, numerous club records were broken again. Below are as follows:
- Team White
- Bailey Herbert (18 yrs) broke the Senior/Open SC 50m Butterfly record by 0.21s with a time of 27.89s. Old record holder was Bailey herself in 2020.
- Bailey Herbert (18 yrs) broke the Senior/Open SC 100m Freestyle record by 0.24s with a time of 55.98s. Old record holder was Bailey herself in 2020.
- Leila Fack (14 yrs) broke the 13-14 SC 200m Butterfly record by 2.04s with a time of 2.18.66s Old record holder was Bailey Herbert in 2016.
- Team Red
- Alex Velicico (12 yrs) broke the 11-12 SC 200 Backstroke record by 1.96s with a time of 2.20.40s. Old record holder was Alex himself in 2020.
Today, February 27, swimmers from National, Provincial and AGP raced another round of LCM racing for experience and meet preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Trials scheduled this May 2021. Multiple swimmers clocked best times and broke records! Below are the following records broken:
- Alex Velicico (12 yrs) broke the 11-12 LC 200 Backstroke record by 0.65 with a time of 2:29.05s. Old record holder was Hugh McNeill in 2016.
- Alex Velicico (12 yrs) broke the 11-12 LC 100 Backstroke record by 1.53s with a time of 1:08.65. Old record holder was Hugh McNeill in 2016.
- Bailey Herbert (18 yrs) broke the Senior/Open SC 50m Butterfly record by 0.24s with a time of 28.60s. Old record holder was Kayla Rawlings back in 2005.
Today as well, February 27, swimmers from Mini Olympians, Olympic Way, Stroke Improvement and Conditioning, and Regional had their time trials. Lots of improved technique and skills from our swimmers ranging from two hand touches in breatstroke and butterfly and jab, touching on back in backstroke, and jab and jell turns! Coaches definitely noted the great racing from our swimmers!
