MORE Club Records Broken!
The National, Provincial, and AGP groups conducted time trials this week for the Swim BC Virtual Divisional and Provincial Meets. Each day, the groups race a handful of events.
Here are some notable swims:
Club Records Broken
- Hugh McNeill (17 yrs) broke the 15-17 and Senior/Open 400 SCM Freestyle record by 2.31s with at time of 3:55.39. Old record holder for both 15-17 and Open was Willelm Hergesheimer in 2007.
- Bailey Herbert (18 yrs) broke the Senior/Open 100 SCM Butterfly record by 1.11s with a time of 1:00.69. Old record holder was Kayla Rawlings in 2006.
- Katie Schroeder (15 yrs) broke the 15-17 and Senior/Open 100 SCM Backstroke record by 0.09s with a time of 1:01.46s. Old record holder for both is Katie herself in 2020.
- Katie Schroeder (15 yrs) broke the 15-17 50 SCM Butterfly record by 0.14s with a time of 0:27.96s. Old record holder is Bailey Herbert in 2020.
- Leila Fack (14 yrs) broke the 13-14 100 Freestyle record by 1.44s and Senior/Open 100 Freestyle record by 0.43s with a time of 0:55.55. Old record holder for 13-14 yrs is Leila herself in 2020 and Open/Senior is Bailey Herbert in 2021. A fun fact for this is that this is faster than the current 13-14 yrs 100 SCM Freestyle BC Record held by Alexandra Gabor in 2007 with a time of 55.97s.
- Leila Fack (14 yrs) broke the 13-14 400 SCM by 4.64s with a time of 4:23.08. Old record holder for 13-14 yrs is Bailey Herbert in 2016.
- Leila Fack (14 yrs) broke the 13-14 50 Butterfly record by 1.27s and Senior/Open 50 Butterfly record by 0.58s with a time of 27.31s. Old record holder for 13-14 yrs is Leila herself in 2020 and Open/Senior is Bailey Herbert in 2021.
- Alex Velicico (12 yrs) broke the 11-12 50 Backstroke record by 0.20s with a time of 31.10s. Old record holder was Alex himself in 2021.
- Alex Velicico (12 yrs) broke the 11-12 50 Butterfly record by 0.09s with a time of 30.46s. Old record holder was Joshua Kim himself in 2014.
New Qualifiers
- Keith Vermeulen (17 yrs) achieved his first Fraser and Island Divisional time with the 50 Backstroke.
