FOUR LOSC SWIMMERS WIN $100 AWARDS! -- Swim BC Challenge Sets Halfway Point Update
Over the past six weeks, LOSC swimmers from Provincial, Age Group Performance, and National Groups particiated in the Swim BC Challenge Set Initiative. Over 500 swimmers from 28 clubs in BC particiated in the challenge. There are nine (9) categories for the meet: Swimmers born 2008 and younger, 2007-2006, 2005-2004, 2003 and older, Para, and Varsity. Both male and female athletes each have their own ranking board.
The Challenge Set Initiative is a six stage motivational program designed to reward training-based efforts. The first week of the challenge started the first week of April 2021, culminating the third week of June 2021. Awards are earned from the cumulative points through the course of the challenge. The program will have interim and final awards after the third challenge and sixth challenge, respectively.
The culmulative points after the third challenge have resulted in FOUR LOSC swimmers scoring in the TOP 3. These swimmers are awarded a total of $100 in certificates ($50 from Team Aquatic Supplies and $50 from RaceTek). Congratulations to these LOSC swimmers for their accomplishment:
- Male 2008 and younger - Danny Park - 3rd Place with 120 points
- Female 2006-2007 - Leila Fack - 2nd Place with 130 points
- Male 2004-2005 - Aidan Erickson - 1st Place with 146 points
- Male 2003 and older - Hugh McNeill - 1st Place with 146 points
Currently, LOSC also has six (6) other swimmers that are in the Top 10 in the leaderboard. These swimmers, should they maintain or improve their ranking in Top 10, would also be eligible for awards at the culmination of the challenge. These are:
- Male 2008 and younger - Alex Velicico
