Qualification Process

In order to qualify for the Olympics, the simplest formula would be that the swimmer should make the 2020 Olympic Qualifying Time or the "FINA A Time" in finals. After that, a swimmer needs to be in the top 2 spots during finals. Should there be more than 2 swimmers making the time, only the top 2 are selected. However, there are more nuances for relay team selection and other events. Please refer to Swimming Canada's Olympic Selection Criteria for more details at: https://www.swimming.ca/content/uploads/2021/05/2021-Tokyo-2020-Olympic-Games-Pool-Swimming-INP-FINAL_21MAY2021.pdf
