Sophie Baht, 13, 50 Free, 32.07, 24th; 50 Breast, 42.83, 16th; 100 Breast, 1:35.99, 18th; 200 Breast, 3:26.94, 16th; 50 Fly, 36.82, 28th; 200 IM, 3:06.70, 32nd

Sophie just had a birthday, so got to swim in a new age group at EKI.  She swam hard and her strokes looked great all weekend!  Her 50 free and 50 breast were just off her best times, and with a couple of adjustments she will be taking more time off!  This was her last meet of the season, and she can take a well earned break from a year of being positive and being a great team member who is also very self motivated!

Kaden Goffinet, 15, 50 Free, 29.16, 26th; 400 Free, 4:51.02, 24th; 200 Free, 2:19.25, 15th; 50 Breast, 35.90, 14th; 100 Breast, 1:19.90, 5th; 200 Breast, 2:52.99, 3rd; 200 IM, 2:35.21, 12th

Kaden had a great meet!  He made finals in 100 and 200 Breast, finishing 5th and 3rd and setting a new club record for the 200 in the process!  His times have improved so much since the last EKI meet, and you can really see the speed and ability starting to come through in his races.  Kaden still has provincials in 3 weeks, but he has set himself up well for his last meet of the season!

Elizabeth Humphreys, 13, 50 Free, 32.14, 26th; 100 Free, 1:11.24, 26th; 100 Back, 1:24.39, 27th; 50 Breast, 43.33, 19th; 50 Fly, 34.20, 13th; 100 Fly, 1:22.39, 15th; 200 IM, 3:01.92, exhibition

Elizabeth has just had a great year and finished her season off with a great meet.  She actually swam her first ever long course 100 backstroke, and made some great new fly and even an IM time that she deck entered.  Very close to making finals, Elizabeth really shows her competitive side when she races and always comes back to cheer her teammates on at finals.  Have a great summer and see you in September.

Isabel Miller, 11, 50 Breast, 45.70, 10th; 100 Breast, 1:39.50, 9th; 200 Breast, 3:26.24, 6th

Isa didn’t have a lot of races this weekend, BUT, she made the most of everything, swimming 3 for 3 finals, getting herself onto the top 20 list and just having fun all weekend.  While her swims were great, when she realized that several people on the pool deck from the host club were former Olympic Swimmers or Staff, she asked for a Keyano(EKSC) cap and got several signatures from both current and former Olympic Team Members.  Great job Isa on everything!

William Miller, 16, 100 Free, 1:02.46, 56th; 400 Free, 5:01.85, 35th, 800 Free, 10:02.06, 11th; 50 Back, 33.05, 25th; 100 Back, 1:12.66, 43rd; 50 Fly, 31.79, 29th; 200 IM, 2:39.06, 44th

Will had a tough weekend but remained positive throughout.  Swimming at a meet while under the weather makes for a tough go, but he made the best of it.  His 50 fly was an awesome race and he was super happy afterwards, especially when some other coaches strongly suggested he try 200 fly due to his low stroke count and ability to hold a good pace(this is sincerely a great compliment, but may not feel like one).  His final race of the weekend was 200 IM, in which he set a new club record for 16 yr. Boys, and was a fun race to watch as he worked on some of his technique during the race and looked pretty good!  Will has provincials in 3 weeks and we are looking forward to his swims with great interest!

Kage Senft, 15, 50 Free, 25.61, 2nd; 100 Free, 57.63, 7th; 100 Back, 1:09.89, 8th; 50 Breast, 35.68, 13th; 100 Fly, 1:05.47, 11th

Kage had a really great meet!  After making finals in his 100 free and doing a best time, things were really looking up for his 50 free, and he did not disappoint, dropping 0.29 seconds in his final and walking away with the silver medal and his first 16&O 50 Free Champ time!  Kage looked like he had fun the whole weekend, swimming 100% best times as well.  Another 3 weeks until Provincials, and more great swims to come!
