Selection for the 2023 NAIG Games NT swim team will take place during the NWT Territorial held over the wekend of Febuary 10 -12 hosted by The polar bear swim club(RIMP) in Yellowknife . In total 12 swimmers swimming in either 14/u 16/u 19/u can be selected . New Qualifying standards for the upcoming Summer Games and relevant information pertaining to the 2022 Games is available under the relevant 'Tab' in the dropdown menu . A new "C" or ' covid 'standard has been temporarily introduced to give swimmers a chance to qualify in light of the current situation.These standards may be removed for future Games .
Congratulations to the four Tier winners for the 2020/2021 season as well to the 'Most improved "swimmers per Tier .Over the course of the season all swimmers nominated to a Tier by their coach swam 10 compulsory short course events ,These included a long distance ,Individual medley .Sprint and Supersprint event .Due to numbers all Tiers were swum as mixed gender events .Tiers were nominated at swimmers current skill level. Due to late pool openings and Covid restictions on number of persons in a facility at one time ,a virtual passport comprising of 10 events in different Tier levels will be swum 3 different occasions during training over between March 2021 and June 2021 . The 2021 Canada Summer games has been postponed until 2022 in light of the covid 19 Pandemic. Further information will be availble once the organizers have decided how this will impact selected athletes and Sport specific age catogories. Provincial Times standards The Provincial Standards will be used to qualify for Provincials - Short Course and Provincials - Long Course. Championship Standards The Championship Standards will be used to qualify for the Spring Championships and Summer Championships.
