Jeff Toth Head Coach/Owner

Training group - Performance

NCCP 301 Certified and Advanced Coaching Diploma from Canadian Sport Institute

Coach Jeff has almost three decades of coaching experience, having been Head Coach with the Regina Dolphins/University of Regina Cougars, Head Coach of the Thunder Bay Thunderbolts and the Head Age Group Coach with the Saskatoon Goldfins. Jeff started Flatland as the Head Coach/Owner along with his wife, Sara 14 years ago. He brings a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, not only from supporting various clubs, but also by participating on Team Sask and Team Canada. Jeff was the Head Coach for the 2009 Canada Summer Games and 2019 Western Canada Canada Summer Games; staff coach on the 2008 Paralympic Games team; team manager for the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games; and a personal coach at the 2019 Paralympic World Series.

Jeff hopes to continue coaching right up until he is no longer physically/mentally able to. He wants to continue to support up and coming coaches who are interested in Career Coaching in their journey and mentor our youth on how to teach.

If you were to ask Jeff’s swimmers to describe him, they would say he is easy-going and funny! His philosophy is centred around creating an environment and program that allows swimmers to reach their highest potential within the sport.

Outside of coaching, Jeff is busy working in the construction industry fishing in his downtime. Jeff has been married to Sara for 24 years and they have four daughters!

Erika Brown Assistant Head Coach

Training group - Performance Development

NCCP 201 – Certified, Bachelor of Kinesiology

Erika has been with Flatland since its inception back in 2010 when she did double duty as both a swimmer and a coach!

Erika attended the University of Regina, completing a bachelor degree in Kinesiology while competing for the University of Regina Cougars Swim Team.

As a swimmer, Erika loved travelling to different cities and countries for swim meets and training camps, and participating in Team Sask camps and swim meets. Her favourite was Canada Games. Erika values the overall experience and skill set swimming provided her inside and outside of the pool. She believes the valuable life experience swimming has provided is unmatched.

As a coach, Erika enjoys seeing each swimmer discover their passion for the sport, achieve success, and witnessing individual growth both in and out of the water.

Erika is a clinical exercise physiologist that specializes in using activity-based therapy for children who have neurological conditions. Her role is to help the child gain function, independence, and improve quality of life. With this expertise she is able to understand the body in a different way, and can apply knowledge and adaptation to any child in swimming.

Jenna Weldon Assistant Coach / Media / Outfitting

Training group - Performance Introduction

NCCP 201 – Certified

Jenna has been with Flatland since 2015 when she started as a swimmer! She began teaching the Learn to Swim program before taking over the Comp Dev group in 2022.

Jenna swam competitively for 10 years with Flatland, as well as three seasons with the University of Regina Cougars, making Canada West finals all three years. She is currently in her fourth year of Bachelor of Kinesiology degree. Her favourite coaching memory has been helping her swimmers achieve Saskatchewan ‘A’ times, as well as being the Head Coach for Team Regina at the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games!

If you were to ask a swimmer in Jenna’s group to describe her, they’d say that she is supportive! She loves what she does and wants to continue building the relationships she has with each athlete and make an impact in their lives by being a role model they look up to. She aspires to help her swimmers accomplish their goals, and wants to influence them to be not only the best swimmer, but the best person they can be. Her philosophy follows suit, believing that every child deserves the opportunity to be in sport. She wants to create a space that is fun, welcoming, and supportive; where kids can grow and develop into great swimmers, and even greater people.

Outside of coaching Jenna swims…a lot! She loves taking long naps, playing with her dog and cheering for the Riders! Since she still actively swims, she brings a unique approach by getting to share cool insights into the sport at a varsity level and showcase that swimming doesn’t just have to stop when you graduate!

Stacy Clark Assistant Coach

Training group - Competitive Development

NCCP 201 – Trained

Prior to moving to Saskatchewan in the Summer of 2021, Coach Stacy spent the previous 8 years as head coach of the Cape Breton Dorados Swim Team. Well known as a team builder and lover of the sport of swimming, Stacy has a reputation of developing technically excellent swim athletes from children of all ages and backgrounds.  Stacy has a proven track record of developing successful age group athletes, with top performers consistently medalling at Provincial Championships and Atlantic Regional meets. Most importantly, Stacy believes that the love of swimming is THE most important achievement, and that anyone can find their own success in the water as long as they love it.

Stella Mulatz Assistant Coach

Training group - Competitive Introduction

Stella has been part of Flatland since the very beginning in 2010, when she joined the club as a 7-year-old swimmer. She began teaching in the Learn to Swim program while in high school and is now returning as the coach of the Comp Intro group.

Stella swam competitively for 15 years with Flatland, one season with the Dalhousie Masters team, and three seasons with the University of Regina Cougars. She qualified for Canada West finals in all three years with the Cougars and served as the Women’s Team Captain in her final season. She recently graduated in the spring of 2025 with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and has since started her career as an elementary classroom teacher.

Some of her favourite swimming memories come from travelling with the team and building strong connections with her teammates both at Flatland and with swimmers across the province. She’s now excited to create new memories from the deck and help young swimmers find their own love for the sport.

If you ask anyone about Stella, they’ll tell you she’s supportive, encouraging, and always up for a good joke! She loves working with kids and is passionate about being a positive leader, role model, and mentor. Her goal as a coach is to inspire young athletes to set and achieve their goals, while reminding them to never give up on their dreams. Stella believes every child deserves a safe, welcoming, and fun environment to grow both as swimmers and as people.

Everything she does is with her athletes in mind, and she is committed to helping them thrive in all aspects of life.

Outside of coaching, Stella enjoys going to the gym, baking, spending time outdoors, and binge-watching her favourite shows. Her experience as a Flatland and varsity athlete showed her how important it is for young swimmers to see that there’s a future in the sport through university swimming, masters swimming, or simply continuing to do what they love.
