Senior Success – Legends Meet Recap

"Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."  (Robert Collier)

The Legends of Coaching (formerly Kevin Perry) meet is the first Senior meet of the season and is traditionally held the second weekend in November.  It is extremely popular and fills early.  We were fortunate enough to be able to send our 2 senior level swimmers, Regina and Xavier.

Senior meets have no age group categories.  Each event has an ‘automatic’ entry time and anyone of any age (5 - 99+) who meets that entry time can qualify.  All times must be proven.

Qualifying for the senior meets is the sum of training hard, day in and day out.  It takes a level of dedication and mental toughness to put in the effort.  We acknowledge the perseverance of our 2 senior level swimmers.  It’s not about winning, it’s about getting there.  Here’s how they did.

Regina Estrada Maravilla – qualified the 100 Free, 200 Free, and 100 Back.  She set TEAM RECORDS in her 200 Free and 100 Back.  Her 100 Free was a NEW AA time,  a NEW JAG time, NEW SumAG time, and a TOP 10 time.  Her 200 Free was a New AA time and a NEW TOP 10 time,   Regina dropped time in all 3 events for a total of -5.39.

Xavier Hatcher-Sifford – qualified the 50 Free and 100 Free.  He set TEAM RECORDS in both events and both events were TOP 10 times.  His 200 Free was an incredible NEW AAAA time and a NEW SECTIONAL qualifying time.  Xavier dropped time in both events for a total of -1.14.

To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift. (Steve Prefontaine)
