ElitSwim offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels.

Our goal is to offer level-specific training for all of our athletes. We gear towards challenging each individual and developing our swimmers to the best of their ability!

ElitSwim Policies

  • All parents/caregivers should park in the designated areas for drop-off and pickup.
  • Younger kids should be escorted to the pool entrance.
  • All pickups should be at the pool.
  • The San Ramon Olympic Pool(California High School) and Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center(DVAC/Dougherty High School) parking lot can be very challenging and unsafe for unaccompanied swimmers, particularly after dark. We recognize the added inconvenience of finding a parking spot, but our swimmers' safety is the most critical priority.
  • Parents are to remain in the designated parent areas: Best location is always across the pool from where the coach instructs the swimmers.
  • Please do not stand behind the coaches while they are coaching and do not be on any swimmer's visible side.
  • Do not try to talk to your child's coach during practice.
  • Coaches and swimmers need to focus on their work and be free from all distractions to achieve their full potential.
  • Coaches will be available for a few minutes after practice to talk to parents.
  • Swimmers and parents need to make every effort to be on time for practices. When the kids get in late, it distracts their fellow swimmers, who are in the middle of their practice.
  • Swimmers should have all of their equipment with them so that they can participate fully.
  • ElitSwim has a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate locker room conduct, disrespect toward coaches or other swimmers, or pool personnel. Good citizenship is assumed and enforced in all team activities.
  • All families are encouraged to be part of making ElitSwim a great place for kids to thrive as swimmers and people. We encourage all parents to get involved in some way. We are looking to you for new ideas to make our team the best it can be. Along with those wonderful ideas, we need your help to make them happen. Ask our management staff how you can get more involved.

PARENTS' RESPONSIBILITY

  • For a successful program, there must be understanding and cooperation among parents, swimmers, and coaches. The progress your child makes depends on this triangular relationship. With this in mind, we ask you to consider this section as you join ElitSwim.
  • The coach is the Coach! We want our swimmers to trust their coaches because their relationship produces the best results. When parents interfere with opinions about how the swimmer should swim or train, it causes considerable - and sometimes insurmountable - confusion as to whom the swimmer should listen to. If you have a problem, concern, or complaint, please contact the coach immediately.
  • 10 & Under: It is common for swimmers ten and under to be inconsistent. Parents and coaches must be patient and permit them to learn to love the sport. When a young swimmer first joins ElitSwim, there may be a brief period in which he/she appears to slow down. This results from the added concentration on stroke technique, but this will soon lead to much faster swims for the individual.
  • Parents' Role: Please make every effort to have your swimmers at practice on time. Realize that your child is working hard and give them all the support you can. Encourage proper diet and sleeping habits.
