Coaches and Directors
Erin has been with ARAC for a few years now! She served as the Aquatics Director at Healthtrax in North Haven for two and half years, and has taught swimming lessons in Wallingford, Hamden and North Haven for the past 10 years. She also swam competitively as a youth and for all four years on Cheshire High School's nationally recognized team.
Keith has almost 20 years of coaching experience in CT across the club and high school levels. He has coached various abilities of swimmers from novice swimmers, Age Group qualifiers, high school state champions, high school All Americans and National qualifiers. In 2009 while coaching at Mercy High School, he was awarded the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
Keith attended and swam at Marist College (Poughkeepsie, NY) where he graduated as a record holder across multiple events and relays. He was also the first male swimmer at Marist College to be an Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) champion by winning the 200 Backstroke and was the first swimmer in program history to be named the Marist College Sports Person of the Year in 2001.
Ken came to ARAC with an abundance of coaching experience. Head Coach- Girls North Haven High School 2001-2009, 2021-current; Head Coach-Notre Dame High School (WH) 1987-2009, 2022-current; Head Coach-Girls and Boys Hamden Hall Country Day School 2009- 2021; Head Coach-Hamden Hall Aquatic Club 2010-2021, Head Coach-Paugusset Club 1992-2018; Coach-Hopkins Mariners Swim Team 1991-2009; Head Swim Coach-Sacred Heart University 1998-2000; Head Coach-Sacred Heart Academy 1992-1997. He won 3 State Championships with Notre Dame 2002,03,04 and won New England Prep School Championship with Hamden Hall 2020.
Coach Rainey has been involved with swimming since 1976. He swam for clubs in and around Wallingford as well as Xavier High School and Southern Connecticut State University. Coach Rainey's first coaching job, while still in college, was with the Wallingford Swim Club in 1985. Over the years, he has coached with the Hopkins Mariners, the Paugusset Club, and Hamden Hall Aquatic Club. Currently Coach Rainey is the coach for the Amity High School Boys which he started in 1993, the Amity High School Girls which he started in 2006, and the High Lane Club which he started in 2009. As the Amity coach, he is very familiar with many of the ARAC swimmers and is excited to begin working with them more closely.
Ally has years of coaching experience both with age group swimmers and masters swimmers over the course of the last 27 years. Her most recent role was the Head Masters Swim Coach for the Town fo Cheshire and has been volunteering in several different roles with the United States Masters Swimming and Connecticut Masters organizations for the last 10 years.
Coach Jake grew up in Beacon Falls, Connecticut. He began swimming competitively at the age of 8 and continued on through high school. After graduating high school in 2018, he got his start in swimming instruction at Camp Hazen YMCA from 2019-2020. In 2021, he was promoted to being Waterfront Director/Head Lifeguard at Hazen, where he learned more managerial and safety skills.
Coach Jake has had success as Assistant Coach for Long River Middle School (2019-current) and as Assistant Coach for the Boys Swim Team at Woodland Regional High School (2021-current). He is an alumnae for both of these teams and is very proud to be passing on his knowledge and experience to them and is equally excited to be joining ARAC to help swimmers learn and grow.
