LGBTQ+ Swim Camp 2025
Sunday April 6-Saturday April 12
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Team New York Aquatics, NYC’s LGBTQ+-inclusive swim team, is proud to host its annual swim camp in San Juan, Puerto Rico, this April. Enjoy multiple workouts and clinics a day at the beautiful Encantada pool in San Juan, with ample time to explore and enjoy the island in between or simply relax at the Embassy Suites, our official camp hotel, a 5-minute walk from the beach.
What: After a calibration workout on the afternoon of Sunday April 6 and a welcome dinner, we will hold two, 2-hour workouts at the Encantada pool (25 meters) each day except Wednesday, where we will have a morning workout and a selection of optional afternoon activities. As in previous years, morning workouts will be aerobic, while afternoons will be split between clinics and a second workout.
Dinner is included in registration for each evening except Wednesday and Friday; Camp ends with our final farewell dinner on Saturday night. Breakfast is included with the camp hotel.
Coaches: We are delighted to have Michael Kerr, head coach of the Chicago Smelts with over 20 years of masters coaching experience, serving as our head coach this year. Mike will be joined by three assistant coaches: Connor Rumpit, assistant swim coach at NYU, and our own Emily Fogle and Kar Nowakowski.
Housing: The official hotel is the Embassy Suites, which can be booked through Zeffy when you register for the camp and which provides free breakfast each day. You can also organize your own AirBnB/VRBO/hotel (but the busses to and from the pool will leave from Embassy Suites). As with last year, we have a spreadsheet of everyone who has registered if you want to look for suitemates.
Who can attend: Anyone over 20 years old! You do not need to be a member of TNYA, USMS, or any masters’ swim team to register.
Cost: $495, which covers all workouts, all transport to and from the pool from the hotel, all dinners (except Wednesday and Friday evening), and a swim cap. We have also secured a discount rate at the Camp hotel, which can be booked directly through TNYA.
Registration is via Zeffy. You can remove the credit card fees on checkout by selecting “Other” and inserting $0. Registration and refund deadline is March 1, 2025.
