2024-25 End-of-Season Highlights

MaryKate Haverly

As we wrap up an incredible 2024-25 Short Course season, we want to take a moment to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and outstanding accomplishments of our swimmers. Over the 185 days of the season (even longer for our high school girls!), this team has shown up, put in the work, and supported each other every step of the way. There were too many fantastic races to mention, but below are a few highlights from the last 7 weeks...

10&U Finale Highlights

Our youngest Sharks made a splash at the 10&U Finale in Hamden! Maeve brought home two trophies, a huge accomplishment, but the real victory was the many personal bests achieved across the board. From first-time competitors to seasoned young swimmers, our 10&U Sharks raced with determination.

CT Championship Highlights

  • 4 Regional Champions: Lucy, Zack, Ann-Yee, and Rachel led the way as Regional Champions. We also had 30 individual and relay medalists!  Beyond the podium finishes, this meet was filled with breakthrough momentsMichael, Andy, and Hadley had standout performances, dropping time in every event.

  • 7 CT Age Group Qualifiers & 4 CT Age Group Medalists: Congratulations to Phin, Zack, Laura, Ann-yee, Annabelle, Colin and Maeve. Your hard work paid off!

  • 2 Senior & Sectional Qualifiers: Congratulations to Gracie and Luke, our CT Senior finalists and Eastern Zone Sectional Qualifiers. A special shout-out to Gracie for reaching the finals at Sectionals in 3 events! We are so proud the way you lead and represent our team.

  • 2 Zone AG Qualifiers: Congratulations to Colin and Laura on this achievement!  Best of luck to Colin as he represents the Sharks this coming weekend in upstate NY.

MIT Meet Success

Every participant qualified for finals—a huge achievement! Additionally, our 11-12 swimmers were on deck in the early morning and swimming their personal best times. All together, there were too many fantastic swims to mention! A special shout-out to Maddie, who dropped the most time of any Shark at this meet. Congratulations also to Lyla, who earned a high-point award for the women's 15+ age group.

These accomplishments reflect not just talent but the hard work put in at every practice.

One of the most inspiring parts of this team is the way our swimmers show up for each other. Whether it’s cheering at the end of a teammate’s lane or coming back for finals just to support a friend, the Sharks truly exemplify the meaning of team spirit.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of our coaching staff, each of whom played an equal role in guiding and supporting our swimmers throughout the season. Their commitment, alongside the hard work of our athletes, has made this a year to remember.

We’re so proud of everything this team has accomplished, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
