Rob Riccobon

Highlighting the third night of competition in Madison was Riley Anderson who broke the 1:00 mark in the girls 100 butterfly for the first time. Anderson swam to a time of a 59.55, dropping from her previous best of a 1:00.77 that she swam for 27th at US Summer Nationals last month.

The Duke commit’s time from this weekend would have moved her all the way up to 14th at US Summer Nationals. Anderson has made huge strides in the event this season as she entered the summer with a lifetime best of a 1:01.28. She is committed to arrive at Duke in fall 2026.

After winning the 100 backstroke in a lifetime best on night 2, Maggie Wanezek swam to a win in the 50 back touching in a 28.19. That was faster than her lifetime best of a 28.39 that she swam at 2022 Summer Juniors. She swam a 28.60 for 18th in the event at US Summer Nationals but her swim tonight would have moved her up to 13th.
