Director of Education & Swimming Performance- Fitter and Faster Swim Tour

Russell Mark

For over 19 years, Russell Mark worked for USA Swimming studying countless hours of video and race data and planning performance with the best coaches and swimmers in the world. He now serves as ASCA’s Performance and Education Advisor. Through a blend of data-driven feedback, technology integration, and coaching, he has contributed to the success of the last five US Olympic Teams.

Coach Megan Oesting

Megan is the head coach of Bend Swim Club in Bend OR, an ASCA Level 5 coach, a member of the ASCA Boad of Directors and the TritonWear Elite Advisory Board. She joined Bend Swim Club after being head coach at SwimMAC Carolina and the head coach and owner of Eastern Iowa Swim Federation. As the Owner and Head coach of EISF, Megan’s swimmers broke almost all of the team records and 30 more State records, posting over 25 top 100 All Time National Age Group Swims, half of which were in the top 10, one of which was a national Age Group Record. In North Carolina, swimmers at SwimMAC set multiple team and state records including 1 National Age Group relay record. Along with all she does on ad off the deck for Bend Swim Club, ASCA and TritonWear, she is a part of the USA Swimming Women’s leadership conference, the National Team Coaches Conference and an active member of the USA Swimming National Team Alumni Association. Her purpose in coaching is to empower people to build trust in themselves and their ability to create the experiences they want to have in life.

Coach Frank Busch

Legendary Frank Busch served as the Head Coach for Arizona’s Swim and Dive teams from 1989 until 2011. During his dynasty at Arizona, Frank Busch coached 48 individual National Championships, 31 relay championships, and 3 NCAA Women of the year winners. Since 1991, at least one Wildcat swimmer has won an individual NCAA Championship in each of the last 20 seasons and his teams have finished among the nationals top 25 on occasions. In 2008, Frank Busch was the driving force behind both the Men’s and Women’s team winning the NCAA National Championship. Aside from a combined winning margin of 230 points, Arizona made history by being the first team to win 8 out of 10 championship relays; five of which set NCAA meet records and four set American records. Arizona became the second only team in NCAA swimming in which both men and women, coached by the same staff, swept the national titles. That same year, Frank was inducted in the American Swim Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Coach Busch is an eleven-time Pac-10 Coach of he Year, a six-time NCAA Coach of the Year and in 1998, was named the USA Swimming and the United States Olympic Committee Coach of the Year. In addition to his 22 years as the Head Coach at Arizona, Frank also coached the USA Olympic teams in 2004 and 2008. The highly decorated coached produced 34 Olympians who have gone to win 10 Olympic medals. In 2011, Frank Busch retired as the Head Coach of the University of Arizona’s Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving program to become USA Swimming National Team Director.

Todd + Katie (Hoff) Anderson

Todd started as a fullback for MSU and moved on to play in the NFL for the Rams in 2012. In retirement, he took his passion for the strength and conditioning side of the sports to performance coaching. He started as a trainer and moved quickly into leadership, overseeing the personal training business, education at Equinox in Florida, Chicago, and New York City. Todd’s introduction to swimming came when he trained Katie to best times at the end of her career. Todd has also trained a variety of athletes from high school to professional in swimming, tennis, soccer, and lacrosse, baseball, and football.

One of Todd’s greatest passions I sleep and recovery. He is a sleep certified expert and was trained by Jennifer Martin, PhD, out of UCLA. In addition to being the co-founder of Synergy Dryland and key investor in Edgetheory Labs (cold tub company), he is the Head Recovery Specialist for C4/Cellucor Energy. Todd also speaks to universities and companies across the country on sleep hygiene, optimization, and ideal routine. Certifications: CSCS, EXOS PES, FMS, USAW, NASM, NCSF, ISSA, Precision Nutrition Level 2

Katie is a two-time USA Olympian swimmer, 8x World Champion and 3x Olympic Medalist. She still currently holds the American Record in the 400 IM. Apart from a passion of corporate keynote speaking, fitness and conducting clinics, she feels there is a way to make a positive impact on the dryland side of swimming. In her career, Katie has experienced highly effective dryland programs where the results correlated directly to her success in the pool. She has also experience negative effects from a lacking dryland program. Her ultimate goal is to collaborate with Todd to provide teams with the tools to strength and empower their swimmers with movements that enhance performance in the pool. Coaches shouldn’t have to worry about programming land movements when their ultimate focus needs to be in the water.
