Recital is Around the Corner – June 7th!

🎭 Recital Day – June 7th
🕒 Show Time: 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM
📍 Location: Alden Theatre at the McLean Community Center

Please plan to stay for the full performance — every dancer deserves an audience to cheer them on and celebrate their growth!

🎟 Recital Tickets: $25 each
Additional tickets go on sale starting May 12, so feel free to invite family and friends. All Dance Team members will receive two complimentary tickets.

🎬 Dress & Tech Rehearsal – Same Day
We’ll hold both the dress and tech rehearsals on June 7th, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Alden Theatre.
The rehearsal schedule will be sent on May 23rd — we do our best to schedule our youngest groups last and older groups first.

✨ What to Bring
A detailed checklist will be sent soon, outlining exactly what your dancer will need for both Picture Day and Recital Day.

🌟 Let’s Finish Strong!
Recital season is in full swing, and we’re working hard to get your dancers stage-ready! To help them feel confident, please make sure your child attends as many scheduled lessons as possible. While we will send home practice videos, nothing compares to rehearsing in person with the rest of the class.

Picture Day 

📸 Picture Day Is Coming!

We’re excited to announce that Destiny Dance will be hosting our annual Picture Day with Chosen Foto — back by popular demand after doing an incredible job last year!

📍 McLean, VA Location: May 17 at 3:00 PM
📍 Washington, DC Location: May 20 starting at 3:30 PM

We’re still in the process of receiving all costume orders, but everything should arrive in time for Picture Day.

Destiny Dance Competition Auditions 

🌟 Shoutout to Our Amazing Competition Team! 🌟

We are beyond proud of our incredible Destiny Dance Competition Team, who recently wrapped up their final two competitions of the season with outstanding results!

At the Imagen Competition in Columbia, MD, our dancers:

• Earned 5 stars and 1st Place in both their Contemporary and Jazz routines

• Received 4 stars for their beautiful Lyrical piece

Then, at the Journey Competition in Woodbridge, they wowed the judges again with:

• High Gold awards for all three routines

• A 5th Place Overall award for the Jazz routine

• And an incredible Teacher Choreography Award for the Jazz choreography!

None of this would be possible without the hard work, talent, and dedication of our dancers, choreographers, and studio staff. Thank you to the incredible teachers who created such inspiring choreography, and a heartfelt thank you to the team who held it down at the studio while we were away — you are truly amazing!

Now, we’re headed into our final performance of the season — the Spring Recital on June 7th — and we can’t wait for you to see what this incredible team has been working toward all school year. It’s going to be unforgettable!

Exciting Summer Camp Opportunities!

Destiny Dance is thrilled to be collaborating with two amazing companies for our summer camps this year!

 McLean Location: We are partnering with JSDA again for our dance camp. If you’re looking to recharge before the school year begins, we recommend joining us! Learn more about how the camp will run on our website.
 Dates: August 4th–8th & August 11th–15th

 Washington, D.C. Location: We’re teaming up with Auntie Connie’s Creative Kids, where her program will focus on art. If your child loves the arts, our D.C. camps are perfect—combining dance and art for a creative, fun-filled experience.

 McLean: August 4th–8th & August 11th–15th

 Washington, D.C.: July 1st–July 25th & August 4th–22nd

 Please Note: Aftercare and pick-up services are available for an additional fee. Click the button below for our aftercare information and reach out to Ladybug Legacy Car Service at 240-903-4425.

Our D.C. camps will be split into two different sessions, providing a fantastic deal for families. Plus, we’ll have fun field trips throughout the full week of camp!

Pre-Registration for 2025-2026 Opens June 6th!

Early pre-registration for the 2025-2026 school year will open on June 6th. Signing up early helps us plan for teachers, class schedules, and additional lesson times if needed. Please note that pre-registration will not be charged until August 1st.

If you wait until September to register, it becomes more challenging for us to adjust schedules—so we encourage families to register early to help us plan effectively!

You will also receive a personalized email informing you of your dancer’s class placement for next season, so you know exactly what to look for when registering.
