Upper Dublin Aquatic Club
Head Age Group Coach

Upper Dublin Aquatic Club, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, is in the process of hiring a
Full-Time, Head Age Group Coach. UDAC has 250+ swimmers on the roster and operates out of
Upper Dublin High School. The pool is a 40-yard stretch pool with up to 15 25-yard lanes.

Job Description:

This position is designed to assist and support the Head Coach with the day-to-day operation of
Upper Dublin Aquatic Club. Under the direction and guidance of the Head Coach, the Head Age
Group Coach will lead and direct the Age Group program. This is a leadership position that will
support and carry out the vision, values, and behaviors of UDAC through leadership, development,
and setting the direction of the age group program. Specific responsibilities include but are not
limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Planning and running in-water and dryland workouts for a group of 20-30+ swimmers
  • Assisting in coaching all groups as assigned by the Head Coach
  • Assisting in planning and executing team events
  • Handling administrative details, including parent communication, meet entries for respective groups, and supervision
  • Attending and coaching at all swim meets for respective groups
  • Assisting in coaching morning and afternoon/evening practices as assigned by the Head Coach

Key UDAC Head Age Group Coach Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing the seasonal plan for the Age Group program
  • Providing leadership and instruction to the age group swimmers
  • Conducting parent meetings as needed
  • Ensuring regular communication with parents at the Age Group level
  • Ensuring administrative and coordination needs and requirements are met both internally and externally for Age Group swimmers
  • Overseeing Age Group meet entries and attend meets as required
  • Maintaining compliance with USA swimming coaching standards
  • Following all USA Swimming policies including SafeSport

Team Culture Responsibilities:

  • Modeling and celebrating the team’s vision, values, and behaviors
  • Working collaboratively and respectfully with all coaches, staff, and team leaders to serve in the best interest of the team and its members
  • Being exceptional in the application of positive, consistent, and effective motivation strategies when working with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff in all aspects of the program

Friends’ Central Aquatics is a dynamic club with a committed core of 150+ swimmers, a supportive family body, and an enthusiastic staff, looking to increase training and performance results. The club was founded in 2001 and has grown into one of the largest USA Club Swimming programs in the region.. The club currently trains at Friends’ Central School. The Graduate Assistant Coach you will be expected to assist the Head Coach in the following duties that will be performed remotely: planning and organizing all phases of the program including evaluation of prospective student-athletes; development of the student-athlete; game preparation; marketing and fundraising activities; and other program duties as assigned. You will report directly to Mark Yankovich, Head Coach, but may be asked to work remotely and with various members of the Athletic Department administrative staff.

According to the current NCAA Constitution, the following stipulations must be included as part of the appointment letter for all coaches.

  1.  A coach who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures whether such violations occurred at the certifying institution or during the individual’s previous employment at another member institution.
  2. A coach annually shall report all athletically related income from sources outside the institution (including, but not limited to, income from annuities, sports camps, housing benefits, complimentary ticket sales, television and radio programs and endorsement or consultation contracts with athletic shoe, apparel, or equipment manufacturers) through the Director of Athletics to the university’s Chief Executive Officer.

Developmental Swimming Manager

Position Summary

PARKLAND AQUATIC CLUB is seeking a Manager of Developmental Swimming Manager to establish and grow a Learn-To-Swim program. This position would work with 2+ lesson instructors and establish, promote and oversee our pre-competitive swimming program on a daily basis including providing group swim instruction to clients while maintaining a safe and effective learning environment while focusing on fulfilling program goals/objectives. Establishment of this program should help progress clients from early water safety techniques to fundamentals of swimming to help transition to our USA pre-competitive program.

Position Expectations:
• Reports to the Head Coach
• Minimum of 2 years of swim coaching experience and/or teaching experience preferred.
• Possesses the skills to create, promote and grow a Learn-To-Swim program as part of a successful and 30-year established USA Swimming program
• Part-time employment. Approximately 20 hours per week (includes administrative and coaching hours)
• Working knowledge of Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification and USA Swimming rules.
• Working knowledge/application of stroke technique, swimmer development
• Ability to create a season plan and train staff on how to manage workouts.
• Possess strong skills in public relations, and written/verbal communications, good word processing skills, and experience with swimming computer software.
• Ability to be flexible given pool access or weather conditions
• Maintain a consistent work schedule; arrive punctually for sessions
• Provide excellent communication with the parents of swimmers as well as all members and staff
• Track attendance of client’s sessions • Accurately enter and maintain consistent timely records in the required systems for hours worked and sessions

• CPR. First Aid, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Concussion Training, and membership in good standing with USA Swimming.

Responsibilities:
Team Management and Coaching:
● Provide leadership and guidance to a team of coaches, including scheduling, mentoring, and conducting regular meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
● Develop and implement a comprehensive season plan in conjunction with the head coach for the competitive team, focusing on progressive swimming techniques, proper stroke mechanics, starts, turns, finishes, and conditioning through water and dry-land training.
● Foster a supportive and challenging environment that enables swimmers to improve their technical skills, build endurance, and achieve their goals.
● Ensure compliance with all USA Swimming and SafeSport regulations and policies, and promote a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and unity.

Event Planning and Coordination:
● Organize and oversee USA-sanctioned swim meets during the short course season, including liaising with meet officials, submitting meet bids, coordinating with vendors for meet set-up, and communicating updates to participating clubs and families. ● Responsible for entries to all SAL invitational meets
● Collaborate with the Upper Dublin School District and Township Parks and Recreation for pool scheduling and coordinate around other district functions and events.
● Coordinate team travel for meets throughout the season, ensuring logistics are well-planned and communicated to swimmers, coaches, and parents.
● Oversee additional aquatics programs such as diving, water polo, and triathlon, ensuring their smooth operation and coordination with the swim team.

Facility Management:
● Coordinate with Upper Dublin School District, and Township Parks and Recreation to schedule pool usage and ensure a safe, clean, and organized aquatic environment.
● Manage equipment and apparel orders, ensuring timely procurement and delivery.
● Provide technical support for team-related computer systems and technology.

Communication and Administration:
● Act as the main point of contact for communications within the club, sending regular updates to families via emails, maintaining an online calendar on the website, and promptly responding to parent communications.

● Assist in training groups of 300+ swimmers when needed, ensuring proper supervision and guidance.
● Oversee the planning and execution of the Montgomery County Special Olympics Meet each year, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
● Maintain and promote UDAC through social media including the team Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Qualifications:
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in aquatics program management preferred, including coaching in a competitive swimming environment.
● Strong knowledge of competitive swimming techniques, training methodologies, and swim meet operations.
● Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
● Proficiency in using technology and software applications related to aquatics program management.
● Current USA Swimming certifications, including SafeSport, Concussion Protocol Training, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Water Safety Instructor, and coaching membership in good standing.
● Current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, Adult & Pediatric CPR, and AED.
● Successful completion of all required background checks.

Director of Competitive Swimming

 

Keystone Aquatics is looking for someone passionate about swimming and wanting to grow the competitive age group program. 

 

Since the opening of Keystone Aquatic Center in June of 2018, located in Central Pennsylvania, KAC has been working with swimmers from over 12 school districts Keystone Aquatic Center has become a mainstay for running high level swim meets in the Middle Atlantic LSC, including Long and Short Course Senior Championships. KAC has expanded its programs to include Master’s swimming and swim lesson programs.

 

Requirements:

• ASCA Level III or above.

• Must have all current or be willing to achieve all USA Swimming coaching credentials.

• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Minimum 3-5 yrs. coaching experience preferred.

• Passionate about swimming & teaching & development of all athletes.

• Knowledge of competitive swimming and all swimming strokes. (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, Freestyle)

• Must possess/be able to demonstrate:

  • Professionalism. o Leadership skills.
  • Decision-making ability (in interest of athletes & organization).
  • Timely & professional communication (written & verbal) with coaches, parents and swimmers, and staff.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for developing our competitive swimmers to be ready to compete at the Jr & Sr Levels.

  • Develop and maintain a season plan for the entire competitive team that shows increased knowledge of the progression of our age group program and develops innovative techniques that show success and improvement. (This includes yardage and technique goals as well as how the group is being differentiated).

• Work collaboratively with all the coaches and administrative staff to develop and follow through on program goals to enhance a club that is consistently trying to meet its mission/vision while always trying to innovate.
• Assist all coaches as needed.
• Responsible for helping maintain a safe atmosphere by adhering to all USA swimming rules and regulations and providing positive and constructive feedback to our swimmers and parents.

  • Must show an ability to work with and communicate well with all age groups, parents, and athletes.
  • Greet, acknowledge, and interact with members at all times.
  • Create an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with all participants
  • Provide a safe, clean, and organized pool area.

• In charge of:

  • Working with administration to develop seasonal/yearly calendar – practice & meet schedules/rentals.
  • Working with administration to develop coaching scheduling
  • Working with coaches creating practices to ensure flow between practice groups.
  • Finding mid seasons and end of season championship meets to attend as well as planning all travel/meals for team.
  • Growing the team.
  • Creating a dry-land program and/or working with dry-land staff.
  • Meet entries for swimmers.

• Aid in the management of team meet travel.
• Vacation – two weeks in August and one in Spring are built in. Also, one during either Thanksgiving or Holiday Break, or upon request and approval.

Jersey Storm Swimming
Assistant Coach

Jersey Storm Swimming is seeking a motivated, innovative, and inspirational assistant coach to work with our head coach to continue to grow our team and inspire and improve the performance of our swimmers.

 

Jersey Storm is a non-profit, year-round, USA Swimming competitive swim team of 40+ swimmers that is managed by a Parent Board of Directors. Our competitive program consists of three levels: Senior, Junior, and Developmental. We are located in Bordentown, NJ (Middle Atlantic LSC) and our practice facility is located at Team85. The team is currently growing and is located in an area with an increasing population.
 

The Assistant Coach position is a part-time position that requires 3-6 days/week commitment (~2-3hrs/day coaching) plus a weekend meet approximately once per month. Some additional off-deck time required to fulfill coaching duties and responsibilities (e.g., practice planning, meet entries, etc). The position offers an hourly salary, sick pay, and reimbursement for board approved travel and certification/educational fees required for the position.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to head coach to develop and implement year-round and seasonal training plans for your training group
  • Coach/manage a training group to ensure the teaching of proper stroke technique and implementation of the training plan
  • Inspire, encourage, and motivate each swimmer to realize their full potential in the sport of swimming
  • Teach life skills such as self-discipline, self-confidence, good sportsmanship, goal setting and working to achieve goals
  • Assign meet events/entries to swimmers and ensure swimmers are entered in meets
  • Coach training group/team at meets (~1 meet/month)
  • Create an educational, safe, & inviting experience for all swimmers
  • Initiate, develop & maintain positive relationships with ALL swimmers in training group

Education/Experience:

  • High School graduate with Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior swim coaching experience and a competitive swimming background
  • Knowledge of proper swimming technique, training science, and stroke/distance specific racing background. 
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication and organization skills
  • Experience using Team Unify (preferred)

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:

  • Certified coaching member of USA Swimming
  • ASCA Level 1/2 certification or higher (preferred)
