51 Middle Atlantic Swimming Members Earn USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the past few months, the hashtag #ChampionsSwimWithUs has circulated amongst the Middle Atlantic Swimming family.
That hashtag is not just about the results in the pool as 51 Middle Atlantic Swimming members were honored as part of USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-America list, released recently by the national office.
Those 51 honorees were the fifth-most by any LSC in the country.
“As much as we love success in the pool, our true mission is developing our members holistically. We are so incredibly proud of how hard all of our swimmers work,” Executive Director Jamie Platt said. “These honors are a testament to the character of the members we have involved with our Middle Atlantic family.”
Germantown Academy Aquatic Club and Suburban Seahawks Club both led the way for Middle Atlantic Swimming Clubs with seven honorees each. In total, 21 different Middle Atlantic Swimming clubs had swimmers that were recognized.
Overall USA Swimming recognized 1,281 athletes in 9-12th grade, who maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average (GPA) and met any of the competition criteria during the qualifying period of September 1, 2021 - August 31, 2022.
