Swim Families: We wanted to take a second and mention our year-round competitive swim team! For those of you with swimmers interested in continuing swimming in a team setting, we will be hosting try-outs starting August 15th this year. Try-outs are done by appointment only on Monday's, Tuesday's, and Wednesday's on the days listed below. Kids ages 6-14 years old are welcome to try out. If they are turning 6 in the early Fall, they are welcome to try-out, as well!
All swimmers interested in trying out for our year-round team are required to know how to swim a full lap of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. Knowledge of butterfly is strongly recommended. Swimmers must have recreational swim team experience (i.e. our summer swim league or something comparable) in order to try-out for our year round competitive swim team.
How do try-outs work? Based on your swimmers age, we place them into one of our intermediate level groups for a trial practice. All new year round competitive swimmers start in either Stars & Stripes (6-8 years old), Red (9-10 years old), or White Group (11-14 years old). Their try-out will involve attending and participating in the assigned groups practice. This will allow them to get a sense of the groups practice before you chose to register. It will also allow our coaches to assess your child's abilities to ensure that the group is a good fit for them.
