Jonsie Pollock - Ballet

Jonsie Pollock received her dance training in Connecticut at Ballet Etudes Repertory Company, achieving the rank of soloist; and in New York at the Joffrey Ballet and Ballet Theatre School.  She was a member of the ballet corps at Radio City Music Hall, danced the role of Graziella in American Musical Theater's stock production of West Side Story, and was co-director and principal dancer with City Center Dance Theatre in Montreal.
Jonsie began her teaching career with Harrison Studios and at John Abbott College in Canada.  After relocating to Georgia, she taught at the Dancer's Collective Theatre and established Dance South Academy. She has been on the faculty of Doris Russell School of Performing Arts, Dance Clayton and  the Magdalena Maury School of Classical Ballet. She is Artistic Director of Georgia Youth Ballet, a nationally ranked Southeastern Regional Ballet Association performing company.  Former students have gone on to perform with the Vienna State Opera Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Basel Ballet, Limon Dance Company, Ballet Met, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Trockedero de Monte Carlo, Nashville Ballet and Charleston Ballet, or have been accepted to continue their training at Juilliard, NYU, SUNY Purchase, UGA, USF, Butler University, FSU, and London Laban Institute.
Jonsie's musical theater credits include choreography and staging for South Pacific, Finian's Rainbow, Carousel and West Side Story for Darien (CT) Suburban Theater, Clayton Arts Summer Theater productions of Carousel, Music Man, and The King and I, and the Fayette Community Theater's Guys and Dolls, Annie, Music Man and The Sound of Music.  She has also choreographed the Sandy Creek High School productions of Hello Dolly!, Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, Beauty and the Beast and Little Shop of Horrors.  She made her directorial debut with Les Miserables, which received a nomination for Best Overall Production at the 2010 Shuler Hensley awards.



Olivia White - Early Childhood

Olivia White, a Miami native, found her passion for dance at early age. She received her BFA in Dance from Valdosta Georgia in December of 2017. She was mentored and performed in works by Sarah Arnett, Melissa Pihos, Olin Davidson, Eric Nielsen, and Geoff Reynolds. Olivia attended the American College Dance Association Conference, performing in student and faculty work, and has taken Master Classes with greats such as Freddie Moore. She has danced with Gotta Dance Contemporary Apprentice Company, as well as the SWAD Collective, performing the Modern Dance Atlanta Festival. She has also co-created and performed works at 7 Stages and the Inman Park Festival. Olivia has had the pleasure of teaching beginner pointe at A Time to Dance Performing Arts Studio in Valdosta, Ga, as well as contemporary, ballet, jazz funk, and creative movement at Dance 4 U! Performing Arts Studio in Atlanta, Ga. She is dedicated to inspiring others to develop and explore their relationship with dance, as Mr. Paulo initially inspired her. Olivia is elated to be working professionally with Southern Arc Dance Center, teaching technique as a tool towards artistic expression.



Ashlyn Macie - Early Childhood

Ashlyn Macie is a senior at Kennesaw State University. She is majoring in Dance with a concentration in modern and minoring in Psychology. Ashlyn has trained in competition studios and has competed across the U.S. from  Las Vegas to Myrtle Beach. She has also trained in concert based studios such as  Ballethnic, and was a part of their youth ensemble. She has also trained with Metayer Conservatory Arts. Ashlyn has been trained in various dance styles and is excited to share her knowledge and love of dance with her students. This is her second year with Southern Arc Dance and she hopes to inspire her students to go after their dreams and to work hard for it.



Jourdan Evans - Hip-Hop

Jourdan made it into Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performance Arts' magnet program at Pebblebrook High School. She studied ballet, jazz, and modern dance under the direction of Mrs. Denise Reeves, Mrs. Cindy Reiser, Mr. Lonnie Davis, Mr. Kenneth Green, and Ms. Eileen Edwards. After graduating high school, Jourdan was accepted into the Valdosta State University's Theatre and Dance program as a dance major under the training of Professors: Eric Nielsen, Sarah Wildes Arnett, Melissa Pihos, Olin Davidson, and Geoffrey Reynolds. Jourdan began her professional career as a teacher as a fitness dance instructor at Valdosta State University Campus Recreation. She began her professional career as a dancer at Wild Adventures Theme Park. Upon graduation from Valdosta State with her BFA in Dance, Jourdan currently works all across the Metro Atlanta area teaching dance. Jourdan is excited for her continued pursuit of passion in dance and teaching!



Shawn Evangelista - Modern

Shawn currently a member of Full Radius Dance began his formal dance training under Ferneasa Cutno (former Garth Fagan dancer) studying primarily West African, Haitian, and Afro Caribbean Dance.  Then moved on to several college dance departments in which he broadened his dance training to include ballet, modern, jazz, and aerial dance.  He has also supplemented training by attending  the American Dance Festival as a full scholarship student, and historical dance centers including:  Philadanco,  Ailey, and Limon.  He has performed in repertoire by prominent choreographers such as: Carlos Oarta, Ronen Koresh, Akiko Kitamura, Christopher Huggins, Donald McKayle, Alwin Nikolais, Shapiro & Smith, Jacques Heim, Lauri Stallings, Ballethnic, ans Southern Arc Dance Theater.



Caro Fernandez - Flamenco

Bailora- Caro Fernandez Founder at Rosa Flamenca Dance Professional Dancer, Instructor & Choreographer Caro discovered her love for Flamenco at a very young age, and became a consumate life-long learner of embodying and transmitting this beautiful art.
She has studied Flamenco dance for the last 20 years in specialized Flamenco academies in Spain, Holland and Mexico. Lucky enough to have learned from some of the most inspiring dancers, such as: Maria Juncal, Patricia Guerrero, Javier Martos, Daniel Navarro, Karin Dieters, Gretta Salinas and Sabas Santos. She has also taught students of different cultures, ages and skill levels; and performed with amazing singers and guitarists such as Amsterdam-based group "Fusion Flamenca".



Filipe Megna - Latin Social Dance


My name is Phil Megna. I currently teach the Latin Class here at Southern Arc Dance. I have been in living in Atlanta, GA for a little over 2 years now. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin where I was a professional ballroom/Latin instructor and dancer for 10 years with Fred Astaire Dance Studios. I also have some experience in country western, theatre arts, jazz, and modern. In my free time, I enjoy playing softball, flag football, volleyball, and kickball. I also enjoy outdoor activities and keeping active. My goal as an instructor is to make my students feel confidence and success, and really feel the dance they are doing. To be able to comfortably socially dance and enjoy every moment of it.
