GA Winter Qualifier recap
The GA Winter Qualifier served as a last chance for Tidal Wave swimmers to achieve new age group state time standards, and as a last chance to qualify for the Peach State Championships. Our swimmers took advantage of the opportunity! Three new swimmers, Daesoo Johnson, Hayden Quathamer, and Jaxon Suggs, added their names to the state championship roster. Daesoo and Hayden qualified in the 10 & under girls 100 breaststroke. Jaxon achieved his standard in the 10 & under 200 free.
A total of 15 new state qualifying times were achieved over the weekend. A full list of new state qualifying times follows:
10 & Under: Deasoo Johnson: 100 breast – 1:44.32; Hayden Quathamer: 100 breast – 1:46.08; Chris Beatty: 50 free – 35.64; Colin Hanna: 500 free – 7:18.90, 100 back – 1:30.35, 100 breast – 1:41.31, 200 IM – 3:09.96; Jaxon Suggs: 200 free – 2:51.68; Tommy Zundel: 100 free – 1:17.93; 11-12: Camryn Beardlsey: 200 back – 2:35.49; Preston Hatcher: 1000 free – 11:58.08, 100 back – 1:06.35; Peter Jansick: 400 IM – 5:42.39; 13-14: Lillie Goff: 400 IM – 5:10.28; Jaxon Ward: 50 Free – 23.97. Well done swimmers!
Additionally, two 8 & under boys achieved Tidal Wave All-Time top 10 swims. William Harris swam the 6th fastest 100 back with a time of 1:34.61. Tommy Zundel secured the 3rd spot on the list in both the 100 free (1:17.93) and 50 breast (48.46). Great job boys!
