Peach State Championships recap

The inaugural Peach State Championships at GA Tech over the weekend saw some fast swimming.  Congratulations to Tommy Zundel on breaking a 20-year-old team record by 7 seconds!!! Tommy finished his 200 free in 2:43.17, establishing a new 8 & under boys’ team standard!  Ryan Lin punched his ticket to Savannah, qualifying for the Age Group State meet in the 11-12 boys 200 breast (3:05.34)!  Celina Hutchins recorded new top 10 times in the 8 & under girls’ butterflies. 

New Tidal Wave All-Time Top 10 swims:

8 & under: Celina Hutchins: 50 fly – 5th (39.82), 100 fly – 4th (1:38.51); Tommy Zundel: 50 free – 6th (34.75), 200 free – 1st (2:43.17), 100 breast – 2nd (1:42.11).  Great job swimmers!

A number of Tidal wave swimmers finished in the top 8 places at the meet.  A full list of top 8 finishes is below:

11-12: McKenzie James: 200 breast – 6th (3:12.01); Ryan Lin:  200 breast – 7th (3:05.34), 100 fly – 5th (1:16.28), 200 IM – 3rd (2:40.08); 13-14: Camryn Zundel: 200 breast – 7th (2:52.57); John Magouyrk: 100 back – 8th (1:04.98), 200 back – 3rd (2:15.76); Nick McMaster: 200 back – 2nd (2:15.50), 200 fly – 6th (2:27.17); Josh Smith: 500 free – 3rd (5:28.13), 200 fly – 5th (2:26.43).  Great job swimmers!
