Tidal Wave Invite recap
The Tidal Wave Invite was a huge success! Thank you volunteers, who each year put on one of the best run meets on the calendar! A special thanks from the coaches and officials, many of whom were at the pool 12+ hours on both Saturday and Sunday, to our hospitality crew! Your work is very much appreciated. Additionally, the meet operations team was there from start to finish – amazing job!
Time drops were often large. Some stunned swimmer’s faces as they looked at their times was a highlight. We had too many new state cuts to list. Preston Hatcher may have only been at the pool for two sessions, but he made the most of his time. Preston set his first team record – the 11-12 boys 500 free (5:28.03)! He led a group of eight swimmers who established new Tidal Wave All-Time Top 10 swims! Congratulations to list newcomers Ryan Lin, Nathan Moore, and William Magouyrk. The full list of new top 10 swims follows:
11-12: Preston Hatcher: 500 free – 1st (5:28.03), 200 breast – 7th (2:42.41), 200 IM – 8th (2:19.67); Ryan Lin: 1650 free – 9th (20:45.76), 100 fly – 9th (1:05.38); Nathan Moore: 1650 free – 6th (20:27.26); 13-14: William Magouyrk: 1650 free – 4th (17:20.87), Senior: Reagan Burton: 200 free – 5th (1:54.51), 500 free – 9th (5:10.15), 200 fly – 9th (2:10.71); Nikolay Chernev: 500 free – 10th (4:44.26), 1650 free – 3rd (16:20.15), Jonah Corbitt: 100 free – 7th (46.92); John Jones: 200 breast – 4th (2:10.23). Great job swimmers!
The weekend served as the culmination of the fall competition season. Well done swimmers! We look forward to huge things in the spring!!!
