2024 Long Course Meet Schedule

Spring is coming and our last two Short Course meets are coming up in March.

In April Long Course Season begins. For those families new to year round swimming we compete in two different types of pools during the year. SCY or Short Course events take place in a 25 yard pool, while LCM or Long Course events take place in a 50 meter pool.

Long course races are more challenging due to the slightly greater length of the swim and the reduction in turns, less opportunity to push off the wall and streamline underwater.

Long course meets are best suited for our more experienced swimmers. For that reason these meets will be open to Junior Bronze groups and above. Swimmers who practice in Red, Red II and Blue may request approval to try a long course meet from their coach.

It is very important to train consistantly for these meets. If you plan to attend long course meets be sure your schedule allows for you to attend as many of our practices as you can. Summer Leauge practices will not prepare you for these meets.
