I could not be prouder to be the Head Coach of this phenomenal club. I look forward to helping your swimmer(s) reach their potential and their goals in the water. Our Core Values of Hard Working, Selfless, Resilient, Caring, and Positive are our team's backbone. You will not find a more dedicated coach or coaching staff that will be with you day in and day out, grinding it out to become a better athlete and swimmer.
"Become a better swimmer today than you were yesterday."
Kelsey swam competitively for Lockport High School and played water polo all four years. Kelsey has been swimming ever since she was very young. S he was a breaststroker in high school. Coach Kelsey began her coaching career with GILS the summer of 2015. She is enthusiastic, energetic and loves in-water instruction. She believes it is the key to a young swimmer’s success.
I am so excited to be part of the GILS coaching staff. I started swimming when I was 8 years old and swam until my swimming career ended in college, swimming Division I at Bradley University. I have coached all levels of ability for MANY years and am so fortunate that swimming is a sport my entire family can be a part of together. I have two children, and we are thrilled to be a part of this team! I look forward to working with your swimmers and instilling in them the same passion and drive for the sport of swimming as I have had all of my life.
I have enjoyed getting to know your swimmers more and more and am proud to be a part of the GILS coaching staff. I did not start swimming until high school, swimming for Carl Sandburg High School. However, my passion for the sport quickly extended into coaching. I have coached for MANY years at all different age and ability levels. I am BIG on technique and feel that it is one of the most important factors for success in the sport. My goals are to have fun, focus on technique, and help to instill values that make our athletes successful people both on and off the pool deck.
Hello GILS Families! I am thrilled to be one of your coaches this season. I swam competitively from the age of 8 through college, and I have taught and coached swimming for many years. Most recently, I was on the BBSC coaching staff for the past four years. My husband and I attended and swam at Lewis University. My husband Jim enjoys officiating and our three daughters love swimming on the team. Outside of the pool, I am an elementary school counselor and have worked with preschool-8th grade students in some form for over 15 years. Proper technique and training are important but it's the character building that I enjoy shaping. I believe the two reasons children STAY in sports are because they are making friends and having fun!
