Our Long Course Course season has been an overwhelming success and it's time to get ready for another fantastic season at LFSC! We appreciate your interest in the club and hope we can be TEAMmates soon.

WELCOME
The first step for prospective members is to register for a New Swimmer Evaluation. LFSC coaches will do a short skill and readiness assessment of your swimmers while LFSC parents will be on hand to answer questions. We have several opportunities coming soon in August and September:

• August 22 and 23      5:30pm Lake Bluff Park District Pool
• September 5 and 6    6:00pm Lake Forest College Pool

High school and college-age swimmers should send a note to Coach Laurel Whittington to learn about options for joining the team.

OUR TEAM
Our TEAM structure is pretty simple with Developmental (Mini and Mighty Ducks), Age Group (Novice and Age Group), and Senior (Senior and National) squads. All of our squads are built around principles of age-appropriate skill, competition, and training. In easiest terms, we develop swimmers as their age, experience, and goals develop. There is a place for any young swimmer in the Lake Forest Swim Club.

OUR PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Our practice schedule is always subject to review and approval but has not changed much over the years. We start the season with all squads based at Lake Forest College. After 1/October (when the LFC team begins practice) we shift the Novice and Age Group squads to Lake Forest Academy.

Our practice, competition and activity schedule is on the CLUB CALENDAR ===>

OUR COACHES
LFSC is led by Coach Michael Lawrence. Coach Michael has an extensive background in all levels of swimming, age group to international. He is a well-known leader in swimming leadership circles and will be inducted into the Illinois Swimming Hall of Fame in September. Coach Michael was a member of the 2004 US Olympic Team staff and now a leading voice on the USA Swimming Coaches Advisory Council.

Coach Laurel Whittington is the long-time backbone of the club and the first contact most people have with the club. Coach Laurel is a true "SwimNut" with a background as NCAA All-America, State and National Masters Champion, and coach of the Libertyville Masters. She is currently the leader of the USA Swimming Open Water Committee (Developmental to Olympic oversight) and was on staff with the 2016 US Olympic Team. Coach Laurel oversees our Developmental and Age Group programs.
