76 swim teams from across the state competed in last weekend’s Age Group State Championships at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IU- Indianapolis. Club Olympia took 22 swimmers to State, with 18 competing, 10 in individual events and 8 more on relays, to finish in 17th over-all, with the boys breaking into the top ten, getting 7th. This past weekend, 47 Club Olympia swimmers who had previously qualified by achieving Divisional qualifying time standards during the 2023-2024 short course season competed in the Indiana Swimming 2024 Southeast Divisional Championship meet at Center Grove High School hosted by the Center Grove Aquatic Club. Thirteen year old Josh Pendleton spent this past weekend in Elkhart, Indiana along with over 160 of the state’s best swimmers competing for Team Indiana in the 2023 Central Zone Championship. The Central Zone Championship contests State Teams of qualified swimmers ages 14 and Under from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Northern Pennsylvania in four days of Long Course swimming events. This weekend brought to a close the Summer Long Course Season as Club Olympia wrapped up competition at the Indiana Swimming 2023 South East Divisional Championships. 25 teams from primarily the southeast corner of the state, but also including Brownsburg, Plainfield, Avon, Greenfield and Mooresville, were represented by swimmers who achieved divisional level cuts during the summer long course season. During the last two weeks, ten Club Olympia athletes competed in Indiana Swimming’s 2023 Long Course Championships for Age Group and Seniors at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. With 10 athletes preparing for the start this week of two consecutive State Championship meets, last weekend, Club Olympia sent mostly 12&U swimmers to Noblesville to compete in the annual Enchanted Forest Invitational. The meet, hosted by the Noblesville Swim Club, annually draws several top teams from across Indiana and Ohio. The weekend of June 22-25, Club Olympia split its time between two different meets allowing club athletes to target select events with hopes of improving or achieving their state and divisional 2023 Long Course Championship meet qualifying times. Club Olympia traveled this past weekend to Fishers, Indiana to compete in the FAST 500 swim meet hosted by the Fishers Area Swim Team. 34 Club Olympia athletes, several of whom competed only in a limited schedule due to weekend BCSC prom festivities, still managed to finish 4th place overall, behind much larger and local clubs from Fishers, Zionsville, and Westfield.
