Hi Diving Families:
It's been another rewarding and successful year for the IISD for our girl members who participate in the IHSAA competitive circuit. IUPUI just recently hosted the 2016 IHSAA Girls State Championships and we are honored that our athletes performed well against the level of competition in the State of Indiana. As an incontrovertible fact, OUR ATHLETES TECHNICALLY
DEFINED THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION IN THE STATE OF INDIANA THIS YEAR as we do most seasons... and as this remains our mission - charge - joy to pursue as an organization.
Our foundation remains
OUR PEOPLE and our WORK ETHIC... our staff (the talent that develops the talent), our performers (the talent), our families and administration (the support system). I often share with my athletes the philosophy that "good" is the enemy of "great," as those who settle for "good" may not necessarily achieve "great" in their lives. This year, on a statewide level, our girl diving performers have without a doubt entered the category of "excellent" in a way no previous organization has represented in the sport. For this accomplishment, we are honored, enthused, and humbled as we know there is much our divers may yet accomplish at the National and International level of diving - for those who will settle for excellence. For now, we'll enjoy a good day of homeland performances!
We thank all our members, parents, coaches, athletes, volunteers, and extended family members for helping the 2 1/2 year old IISD Program grow into what we should be in competitive diving. As an organization, we are a spirited and gifted toddler... and we are ready to grow with some great supports and training philosophies in place. Please note that the Levels training system is a spinal chord of development that will advance our athletes' form, power, movement patterns, fitness levels, flexibility to international levels of success wherever training time, commitment, talent, and passion may travel on a good path in our system. We do encourage all divers under our care to focus on our Levels training skills and levels meet attendance expectations, that our next generation of athletes may grow to outperform our previous, and that we may remain the greatest diving club in Indiana... and one of the best in the history of the USA.
Please enjoy the statistical reflection of our divers' commitment to training below, which have all been forged by the regular, day to day excellence of our performers, coaches, and families throughout the year... stats speak for themselves below.
Sincerely,
Sean McCarthy
IISE Executive Director
