Practice Notes:

New Prairie families continue to use door N18 to enter the building. Penn families use door D. If you arrive at Penn and the gallery door is locked, please feel free to get my attention on deck to let me know.

*Elite practices are for our athletes who are done with their high school season. As an FYI our practices will be a little crowded once the high school girls return through the end of the boys high school season on March 1.

FINS Taper Groups

As we approach our end of season and championship meets we will have athletes tapering for different meets. If your athlete has 3 or less Divisional Cuts (and is competing at the Last Chance Invite) they will be tapering for the Last Chance Invite. If your athlete has 3 or less Age Group State Cuts they will be tapering for Divisionals. If your athlete has 4 or more Age Group Cuts they will be tapering for Age Group State.

The taper practices will end approximately 15-20 minutes earlier than the scheduled ending times this week. Here is a link to the list of athletes tapering for each meet.

IA Jr. Superstar Invitational/Riley High School/February 15 & 16

The meet is being held at Riley High School. You can view our entry by clicking here. Kelly Laneman (574-339-6076) will be the primary coach on deck today. If you are running late or will be unable to make it please call or text. Here are the pertinent times for today's meet.

Sunday

Doors Open: 9:30 AM – our athletes should be on deck by 9:45

Warm-up: 10:00-10:45 AM

Meet Starts 11:00 AM

CON Last Chance Invite

You can click here to see our entry (as of 2-12-25). I will be sending an updated entry after we receive the results file from this weekend’s meet.

Divisionals

The entry deadline is next Sunday February 23. If your athlete has not yet made a cut but will be attending if they make one at the Last Chance Meet please commit them to the meet.

USA Memberships

We will need all of our athletes that have not done so already, to renew their USA Swimming memberships. Here is the link. From my experience with my own athletes just purchasing the membership will initiate the transfer process.

Fall and Winter Meet Schedule/Dates of Meet/Location/Deadline to commit

This is our tentative meet schedule for the fall and winter. We may add meets if we find ones that fit our club’s needs. There will be two different dates listed with each meet The first date listed is the day(s) of the meet and the second date is the deadline to commit.

Swimmers wanting to compete will need to commit to those meets. The deadlines will be based on deadlines that were set in previous years. They may change once the meet hosts posts the meet information. When committing to multiple day meets, if the option to select the days you want is not available, leave a message in the notes section stating the specific days you would like to attend.

Some meets will be marked with an * and those will require swimmers to meet minimum time standards. You can view all pool locations on our website under the "Pools" tab.
