This Week’s Events

Another Candy Cane Classic Meet in the rearview mirror! We hope your swimmers had a good time and those who tried out their first meet are excited to try it again!

Boilermaker Aquatics Winter Championships are next weekend. Details will go out to participating swimmers by Thursday.

Season 1 has now ended for Seasonal Swimmers in Momentum 2, Evolution 2, and Foundation that indicated they will not be returning. Thank you for your support while with us and we hope to see you back in the future!

We don't miss a beat, Season 2 starts on Monday, December 8!

Upcoming Practice Changes

Due to closures at Pike HS for their high school meets, we have had to make some changes to the sessions for Momentum and Junior Groups the next three weeks. (All other groups remain on normal schedules)

Practices are normal with the following exceptions. If this confuses you, check the Calendar on our website for your squad.

Monday 8th Dec M1 6-8pm (Dry/Swim) at ZHS; M2 Normal time (M1 is making up for 12/11); Juniors Normal time/place
Tuesday 9th Dec All as normal time/place
Wednesday 10th Dec M2 6:30-8pm (Dry/Swim) at ZHS; M1 Normal time (M2 is making up for 12/11); Juniors Normal time/place
Thursday 11th Dec No Momentum Practices; Juniors Normal time/place
Friday 12th Dec Sessions all cancelled for the Purdue Winter Champ Meet
Saturday 13th Dec Sessions all cancelled for the Purdue Winter Champ Meet

Fostering a Culture of Excellence - December Focus - Focus (LOL!)

At ZSC we value strength of character and are committed to helping our athletes grow in more than just their athletic abilities. Each month, as a team, we will focus on a character trait.

This month is FOCUS: maintaining concentrated attention and self-control; applying diligence to tasks despite distractions

Coaches will be talking about this with their squads, and you can help reinforce at home!
By emphasizing attention, self-control, and diligence, and contrasting these with the opposing vices of distractibility and inattention, we can motivate ZSC athletes to cultivate focus as a skill that enhances both individual and team success.
Focusing on how athletes can apply focus to their 1) training, 2) teammates, 3) the spaces they occupy, 4) coaches and officials, and 5) interactions with others, while underscoring that distractions like off-task behavior have no place on the team.

December 1st Billing Info

December's Practice Fees:
- Senior squads: No payments due (payments resume March 1)
- All Junior, Momentum 1, Evolution 1: payment 4 of 9 for Year Round
- Momentum 2, Evolution 2 and all Foundation: No payments due (Season 2 payments will be due Jan 1 and Feb 1)
Meet Fees:
- Carmel Fall Frenzy
Hospitality/Concessions Fee for Candy Cane - $5 per family that has a swimmer on the ZSC roster (regardless of participation in the meet). This is in lieu of us requesting you to purchase and drop off items.
Remember, you don't have to do anything. The Team Unify system will automatically charge the credit card or bank account you have on file on the 1st of the month.
