CPSC WEEKLY UPDATE – November 3, 2025
Pool Heater is Broken….. again!!
Yep….our pool heater is broken again and the parts are still on order. The ignitor has been temporarily fixed but the water is currently at 75 degrees and colder than I am comfortable putting the age group in. I have secured practice space for us at Hobart HS for Monday & Tuesday hoping that the temp is comfortable enough on Wednesday.
Practices will be as follows:
Bronze = 5:30-6:15
Silver – 5:30-7:00
Gold = 6:15-8:15
Platinum = 6:15-8:15

VERIFYING YOUR CELL NUMBERS IN TEAMUNIFY SYSTEM:
While I realized that we all get inundated sometimes with text, emails, etc., I would really like to have everyone verify their cell numbers so that last second notifications or important information can get to you quicker. I had sent a request to those who have not yet verified their cell numbers. If you could please do so, it would be greatly appreciated!
CPSC SPIRIT WEAR / APPARREL STORE:
CPSC has a new spirit wear store with Nottingham Embroidery. There is no deadline with this store. If you do purchase it takes about 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Testing will be during the swimmers’ normal practice times but could possibly go a little longer if necessary. No one is required to do the test and it is the swimmer’s option. If you have any questions about what is involved with the testing, please reference the “Coaches Packet for Parents” on our Forms page of the website.

Reminders for Parents
- Once Bronze & Silver swimmers are done with practices, they either need to be picked up or sit up in the stands until they are. We have had a few roaming around and on pool deck after they are done with practices.
- If Gold & Platinum swimmers are being dropped off earlier than 15 minutes before their practices start, they need to sit up in the stands until the coaches call them down. We have had WAY TOO MANY roaming around the school or going outside where they are unsupervised and we cannot have that. Please talk with your swimmers.
- No parents are allowed on the pool deck during practices and meets (unless volunteering at the meets) as this would invalidate our club insurance through USA Swimming’s provider. There is no exception on this. If you have any questions on this, please contact Head Coach John Krick.
- No parents are allowed in the locker rooms as this is a Safe Sport violation. Again, no exception on this. We are a Safe Sport Certified club and cannot risk losing this certification. If your swimmer seems to be taking too long (meaning longer than 15-20 minutes), please ask a coach or another swimmer if they can check on them. If you have any questions on this policy, please contact Tiffany Lyles, CPSC Safe Sport Chair.
- Please let the coaches do the coaching. We celebrate your role as a parent and realize the work that you do every day in that. Please allow the coaches to be the ones that the swimmers get their swimming feedback and information from at the connection is critical to their success. Even if you swam, many things technically have changed, and the coaches are the best avenue for the swimmers to learn this information from.
- If you need to speak to a coach, please email them to schedule a time as they will be more than willing to speak to you AFTER or BEFORE practice. During practice is not the time for coaches to have those discussions as it takes their attention away from the swimmers. If it is an emergency, then, please do not come on deck, come to the edge of the stands and ask a coach if they can meet as soon as possible.
- Attendance matters. We will always understand conflicts that keep our swimmers from attending practices, however, the more they can be there, the quicker progress can come. Being there is the first step to becoming an elite level swimmer and while there are many after that, if we don’t get to see your swimmers more than twice a week, it becomes harder to teach the technicalities of swimming for them to pick up on and make habits of.
- If you every have any questions about the “wet side” of the program, please contact Head Coach John Krick at either 219-838-3294 (DAWG) or at [email protected]. If you every have any questions about the “dry side” of the program, please contact one of our board members whose email can be found on the “COACHES” page of the website down at the bottom of the page.
- Always stay positive with your swimmers, they put more pressure on themselves they you’ll ever realize. And trust me, adding pressure to a boiling pot never ends well.
