21 DCST Swimmers Compete at ISI Age Group Championship Meet

 

                DCST had a strong showing at the ISI Age Group Championship Meet with 22 swimmers qualifying for this meet. Emily Launer led DCST by placing 9 ^th or better in all 6 of her events including her first place finish in the 13 – 14 year old girls 200 yard Backstroke. She also placed 4 ^th in the 200 yard Backstroke, 5 ^th in the 500 yard Freestyle, 6 ^th in the 200 yard Individual Medley, 8 ^th in the 400 yard Individual Medley and 9 ^th in the 100 yard Freestyle.

                In the girls ages 10 and younger division, Alexa Miller had an excellent showing with 5 top 16 finishes. She placed 5 ^th in the 100 yard Butterfly, 11 ^th in the 50 yard Butterfly, 12 ^th in the 200 yard Individual Medley, 13 ^th in the 100 yard Individual Medley and 14 ^th in the 100 yard Freestyle. Tara Gidaszewski was DCST’s other top 16 female finisher with an 11 ^th place in the 13 – 14 year old girls 200 yard Backstroke.

                Even though Daniel Hein has only been eleven years old for half a week, he proved he could compete with the other boys ages 11 – 12. He was 5 ^th in the 50 yard Butterfly, 9 ^th in the 50 yard Backstroke, 10 ^th in the 100 yard Backstroke and 11 ^th in the 100 yard Butterfly. In the 13 – 14 year old age group, Kei Ishimaru placed 10 ^th in the 200 yard Butterfly and 11 ^th in the 100 yard Butterfly events.

                Jacob Bjork, Michael Carlson, Natalie Carlson, Amanda Cook, Josh DeDina, Mikaila DiCostanzo, Marc Dubrick, Kristina Frohlich, Jessica Howland, Ryan Lindsey, Joelle Maish, Josh Page, Dylan Powers, Ryan Schultz, Alex Wang and Athena Ye had great performances for DCST. A complete listing of the results is available at www.dcst.org under the section titled “Records & Results - - > Meet Results.ý
