DCST Swimmers Help Team Illinois Win Zone Championships

 

DCST swimmers Kristina Frohlich, Daniel Hein and Alexa Miller helped Team Illinois win the Central Zone Championships by defeating teams from Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio, Oklahoma and Missouri. Hein swam the butterfly leg on Team Illinois’s first place 11 – 12 boys Medley Relay. He also placed 5 ^th in the 50 meter butterfly, 8 ^th in the 100 butterfly, 25 ^th in the 100 backstroke and 30 ^th in the 50 backstroke.

Alexa had a busy meet consisted of finishing 9 ^th in the 100 butterfly, a 14 ^th in both the 200 individual medley and 200 freestyle, a 20 ^th in the 50 butterfly and a 26 ^th in the 100 freestyle in the 9 – 10 girls age group. In addition to the regular meet events, Alexa also participated in the open water meet. In this event she took home a 6 ^th place finish. Also participated in the open water meet was Kristina who placed 12 ^th in the 11 – 12 year old girls division.
