Ye Claims State Title at Age Group Championships

        Day 2 of the Age Group State Meet was another successful one for DCST.  Out of DCST’s 15 swims, 10 were career best times and 4 were new team records.  For the meet, so far, DCST has 12 career best times out of 17 total swim for an outstanding 71% improvement rate.
        Athena Ye led the way by winning the 11 – 12 year old Girls 100 yard IM!  She lowered her best time in the 100 yard IM by a whopping 3.5 seconds.  In her other event on Friday, she earned a 3^rd place finish with her 0.4 second time drop in the 100 yard Butterfly.  Both swims were new DCST team records.
        Also in the 11 – 12 year old Girls age group, Abby Pardridge had a phenomenal day with two top 8 finishes, two career best times, and a new team record.  Abby was 6^th in the 100 yard Breaststroke and 8^th in 100 yard IM with 0.3 seconds and 1.8 second time improvements, respectively.  Her time in the 100 yard Breaststroke was new team record.
        DCST’s 4^th team record of the day was set by Noah Dean in the 100 yard Breaststroke when he lowered his personal best time by an awesome 1.5 seconds.  He placed 9^th in this event.  DCST’s 13 – 14 Boys 800 yard Freestyle relay team of Nolan Fergus, Dylan Rasmussen, Ethan Heinrich and Riley Lohse were terrific with a 7 second time drop and a 23^rd place finish.
        DCST’s other best times on the day included:  Riley Wiegartz (2.3 seconds in the 10 and Under 200 yard IM); Dane Pardridge (0.2 seconds in the 10 and Under 50 yard Freestyle); Sarah Hein (1.9 seconds in the 13 – 14 Girls 400 yard IM); Quinn Cynor (0.2 seconds in the 11 – 12 year old Boys 100 yard Butterfly).  The meet continues for another 2 days at UIC in Chicago.
