DCST Stings the Rays
The Kishwaukee YMCA / DeKalb County Swim Team (DCST) defeated the visiting Huntley Stingrays by a score of 434 – 272. With the win, DCST improved to 3 – 1 on the summer season. As a team, DCST didn’t swim particularly well with only 130 personal lifetime best times out of a total of a 346 swims for an improvement rate of 38%.
After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Kathryn Fredrickson, age 6, and Anthony Biundo, age 11, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

DCST’s next full team dual meet is at Crystal Lake on Tuesday, July 8.
