Dolphins Down DCST
DCST began its 2014 – 2015 winter season on a losing note by falling at the Illinois Valley (Peru, IL) Dolphins by a score of 397 - 321. As a team, DCST swam okay for the first meet of the season with 72 career best times out of a total of 188 swims for a 38% improvement rate.
Seventeen swimmers had a great meet with at least two career best times. These swimmers were: Anthony Biundo, Kristina Biundo, Nicholas Biundo, Nathan Braun, Timothy Braun, David Buck, Quinn Cynor, Nina De La Cruz, Mason Dukes, Teo Graham, Sean Harrelson, Corinn Schusteff, Tyler Theis, Ben Vicker, Zoe Vicker, Ritta Wi and Miranda Zhang.
After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Corinn Schusteff, age 12, and Ben Vicker, age 8, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.
