A special thanks goes out to Sarah Hein and our Senior swimmers (Nationals, Bulldogs, Mastiffs, and Great Danes) who worked together to provide special “Big Fish / Little Fish” support to all of our developing swimmers. This program has been in the works all season and will be in full force to start off the winter season. The Senior swimmers organized small groups of swimmers to provide support to the newer and younger group of swimmers. The more experienced swimmers are taking a huge interest in the development of the team. As always, we strongly encourage the developing swimmers to watch the experienced swimmers and to ask them for help and advice. This group of Seniors is made up of great leaders! Be proud to have them on your team!
A very special thank you needs to go out to all of the parents who helped make the conference meet a success. Without the parent board; parent meet director; parent officials; and all of the other parents who volunteer, we wouldn’t be where we are today. This conference meet was a bit of a challenge on our bullpen parents. Thanks for going the extra mile to get the swimmers from the grassy field into the bullpen and finally behind the blocks to swim.
Each and every swimmer deserves to be named Big Dog at this conference meet. Our 8 and under Big Dogs for this meet were Sophia Martinez (8) and Luke Oland (8). Our 9/10 Big Dogs for this meet were Ana Hall (10) and Jack Blaise (9). Our 11/12 Big Dogs for this meet were Ava Karolewicz (11) and Ethan Welch (12). Our 13/14 Big Dogs for this meet were Nhia Caras (14) and Timothy Braun (14). Our 15 and over Big Dogs were Emily Raetzke and Wade Lyles. However, you all deserve a Big Dog “scratch behind the ears” kind of reward for all you do for the team. I’ve seen many great friendships blossum this season.
The YMCA LCM State Meet is on July 22nd and 23rd. Many of you will be representing DCST at this meet in St. John, IN. Your coaches are looking forward to seeing even more great swims to close out the season. Swim fast!
The USA Age Group Championship meet will take place in Kenosha, Wisconsin from July 27th to July 30th. We are hoping for more participants to qualify for this exciting meet for swimmers under the age of 14.
The YMCA LCM Summer Nationals Championship meet takes place in Greensboro, North Carolina during the week of July 31st through August 4th.
Keep swimming!
