December Meet Recap

Hello everyone,

I was very excited for this meet more than you all know. It is very nostalgic because I too used to swim at this meet, and it was one of my favorites! We did an amazing job, getting 3 of the high point awards AND we placed SECOND overall.

Some notable achievements…

Big Dogs:

High Point Awards: We decided to give our TEAM high point plaques to our highest point swimmer in each age group that won…

                8&under girls: Stella Anderson

                9/10 girls: Rosemary McMahon

                Senior girls (15+): Georgia Harrelson

Best Times: These are swimmers who got all best times, and no DQ’s!

                Yasin Assaf, Anna Baker, Esme Beckley, Claire Freson-Jago, Miles Heine, Rosemary McMahon, Alex Murcia, Noah Murcia, Amelia Oland, Grayson Sullivan  

During the meet there were a few events/races that really stood out for us coaches…

                Amelia Oland swam her 50 back with no time, in heat one, then ended up placing in the top 6 overall with a 42.89!

                Miles Teller swam his 25 freestyle with a time of 39.26, dropping 11 seconds!

                Yasin Assaf swam a 200 freestyle and dropped 1 whole minute!! That is amazing!!

                Anna Baker swam her first 500 freestyle in a swim meet, and swam it in under 7 minutes, with a time of 6:56.39!

                Noah Murcia dropped almost 15 seconds in his 500 free!

Overall, it was so nice seeing our swimmers on deck and cheering for one another. That is something we love to see and want to see it even more in the upcoming meets. Also, THANK YOU PARENTS for helping at this meet. There were a lot of drops because of people being sick, so we appreciated all the help that you gave. Great job to everyone!!
