DCST Attends First Annual SwimStrong Dryland National Championship

Kayleigh Kozlowski

This past weekend was one for the books...

After several long weekends at the pool, DCST sent a group of 13 swimmers to the SSDL National Championship meet in Fishers, IN. Our highest scorer of the meet was Colleen Goff, who competed and earned her spot in finals for the 50 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Every swimmer that competed either dropped time in their individual event, qualified for finals, OR both! Josie Slattengren dropped an astonshing 7 and a half more seconds in her 500 freestyle, Matteo Graham dropped over 5 seconds in his mile and another 3 seconds on his 100 breaststroke placing him just shy of the 100 BRST national cut for our upcoming summer season.

They all got to meet Kyle Sockwell, a former Arizona Sun Devil, who now spends his free time trying to make swimming more entertaining and reachable by the general public. Logan Borth got chosen to compete in the 100 butterfly against Kyle and dropped 2.71 seconds, leaving him with a time of 56.79.

Thank you to SwimStrong Dryland for extending the invitation to attend. #SSDLChamps
